Grizzlar is a new German mobility start-up dedicated to significantly reducing time-to-market. The company demonstrates its techniques and expertise with the EMX30 motorcycle. The knowledge acquired from the EMX30 is incorporated into Grizzlar’s service offerings and communicated to clients in the automotive sector.

The launch of the Grizzlar EMX30 showcases the company’s goal to elevate electric motocross technology. This low-voltage model stands out with its remarkable torque, eco-friendly design, and distinct riding experience, setting fresh benchmarks in off-road sports. The EMX30 fulfills the performance requirements of the adult MX1 & MX2 racing categories while operating within the low-voltage spectrum. Benefits of low voltage include lowered expenses for race organization and safety measures.

The Grizzlar EMX30 offers a remarkable blend of strength and nimbleness. Its high-performance electric motor delivers immediate torque for rapid acceleration. With a specially designed battery system, it ensures prolonged ride durations without losing power. The advanced chassis and cutting-edge suspension technologies promise optimal comfort and stability, even on the toughest terrains.
Grizzlar’s EMX30 showcases a firm commitment to eco-friendly innovation. Its emission-free motor and resource-efficient manufacturing greatly lower its CO₂ emissions. The swappable high-performance battery allows for rapid recharging, reducing track downtime.

Air Flow
The 30kW motor, designed with a low-voltage concept, generates high currents that lead to critical heat production. To manage this, the electric motor and its controller are combined with a water-cooling system, which directs the excess heat to a radiator located in the rear frame. Placing the radiator here has the key benefit of drawing heat away from the battery, thereby preventing thermal buildup via conduction. However, incorporating a water-cooling system in the rear frame presents a challenge: maintaining adequate airflow while safeguarding it against the tough motocross conditions. Besides its technical roles, the airflow channels also contribute to the bike’s fairing and overall aesthetic design.

About Grizzlar
Grizzlar UG, located in Munich, delivers engineering services focused on concept development, simulation, design, and small-scale production. The company excels in offering comprehensive interdisciplinary engineering solutions, emphasizing the connection between theory and practical application.
In 2021, Niklas Bloemen established Grizzlar UG while studying mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen and working as a design engineer at Siebtechnik GmbH in Mülheim an der Ruhr. Leveraging his previous experience from founding the non-profit organizations MX AIX and TechAachen, he sought to fund his education through freelance work that wasn’t tied to a specific location.
The company began with initial design projects for a start-up and engineering services in the motorcycle aftermarket industry. Today, Grizzlar is capable of performing complete mechanical analyses and durability assessments for vehicles.
