Guy Salens: “THE PACK has been invited to try out one of the initial pre-production models of the new DTRe Vince from Trevor Motorcycles. Let me tell you, this machine is powerful! It’s incredibly lightweight and easy to handle. It has the look of a badass motorbike, especially in full black. The electric motor delivers power instantly, a signature feature of electric motorcycles. I appreciate the bike’s versatility: you can take a relaxed cruise or enjoy some light off-road adventures in the forest. It’s quiet and eco-friendly, with no noise or emissions. The upright seating combined with the wide handlebars makes turning corners a breeze. A key change from the previous model is Trevor’s choice of a Gates belt drive for the DTRe Vince. The chain’s ‘rattling’ sound has been replaced by a more subtle hum from the belt, which I found quite pleasant.”

New DTRe Vince
Trevor is ready to launch their second model, the DTRe Vince, an electric scrambler that showcases their distinctive minimalist design. The model was refined in collaboration with Alain Maris Racing from Sint-Niklaas (Belgium), and its assembly will also be conducted in Belgium.

The two Belgians, Jeroen-vincent and Philippe, had a distinct vision to introduce a product that would be truly unique in the market. They felt that too many manufacturers were still using the design of their fuel-powered rivals. Breaking away from this conventional thinking, they committed entirely to creating their own unique models.

The most significant change from the earlier model is in both the cost and the increased power output. Achieving a base price under €10,000 was essential, as this figure holds considerable importance in the electric motorcycle industry. Meanwhile, top-tier electric bicycles, particularly speed pedelecs, are also hitting and surpassing the €10,000 threshold.
- Nominal power of 11 kW
- Peak power of 22 kW
- Battery capacity of 5.0 kWh
- Real-world range of 100 km
- Belt driven by Gates
- Brakes by Nissin
Price from € 9,995 including VAT

The DTRe Vince is now fully approved for European roads, making it completely street-legal (homologation is currently in progress in the US). Trevor aims to attract commuters seeking a unique option: an urban street bike with a 100 km range that offers a fun ride to work and can be recharged within a few hours for an enjoyable journey back home.

Similar to many other electric motorcycle manufacturers, Trevor has equipped the new model with a nominal power output of 11 kW. The benefit of this power level is that, in certain European countries, individuals with a category B driver’s license can legally operate a 125 cc / 11 kW motorcycle after holding their license for two years and completing four hours of training, without needing to pass an exam. However, this rule isn’t consistent throughout Europe. For those commuting who are seeking an alternative, this feature is significant as it eliminates the need for a motorcycle license. The motorcycle’s peak power reaches 22 kW, offering ample excitement and strength.

Naturally, Belgium is a limited market, so Trevor Motorcycles has expanded with branches in the UK and the US. For this reason, a foot brake has been added (unlike the DTRe Stella, which features both brakes on the handlebars) to comply with legal requirements in the American market. Fingers crossed that Trump doesn’t set overly high import tariffs on our Belgian entrepreneurs.

About Trevor Motorcycles
In the spring of 2018, two friends, artist Philippe Stella from Los Angeles and motorcycle expert Jeroen-vincent Nagels from Antwerp, were collaborating on The Mighty Machines project in Cadaques, a picturesque coastal village near Barcelona. During breaks from their work, they used a vintage dirt bike to run errands in town and explore the sandy roads in the area. This experience sparked the idea that a modern version of such a motorbike would be an ideal toy for a setting like that, as well as a perfect alternative to small-wheeled scooters in large cities. The concept was born.
Belgian company Trevor Motorcycles launched their first model, the DTRe Stella, featuring a flat tracker style, marking their entry into the premium electric motorbike market. This motorcycle was outfitted with top-tier, high-performance components and consequently, Trevor Motorcycles established itself in an upscale market segment while maintaining a distinctive character. The “less-is-more” approach embodies a ‘love it or hate it’ philosophy. The design, crafted by John McInnis, pays homage to the Spanish brands Bultaco and Montesa, retro off-road bikes that are deeply admired by Trevor’s founders, Jeroen-vincent Nagels and Philippe Stella. And today, the new DTRe Vince is production-ready!
