THE PACK received an invitation from STRiX eMotors Ltd. and Benelux importer Electric Motorbikes to observe (in silent mode) the Belgian Army testing the STRiX Hard Enduro at a confidential location in Belgium. A day before the event, I was given some geographical coordinates, but I seemed to have misinterpreted them because I ended up on the wrong side of the area. Apologies for the delay, everyone—I’ll make sure to be better prepared for our next mission!
Following a presentation and briefing by Dejan Nadoh, the Chief Business Development Officer at STRiX eMotors Ltd., we were guided into the site, which spans about 27 km². This location is presently utilized by the Belgian Defence, the armed forces of the European Union member states, and the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation for maneuvers, tactical exercises, and as a firing range for infantry and artillery.
STRiX Hard Enduro
The STRiX Hard Enduro is primarily designed for military use. It has undergone extensive testing by NATO forces and the US Navy, demonstrating outstanding capabilities in all assessments. Constructed with military-grade materials and equipped with specialized driving modes, STRiX establishes a benchmark for superior performance.
This rugged electric motorcycle delivers a powerful performance with 70 kW (95 hp) and an impressive 1,050 Nm of torque at the rear wheel. Designed for off-road and military use, it features premium components, with 90% of its parts, including the battery and motor, sourced locally. The 6.3 kWh NMC battery is removable and can be charged at up to 18 kW DC with an external charger that uses a separate connector compatible with the CCS standard.
Practically speaking, this means the battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in just ten minutes. You can also recharge the battery using a standard AC outlet. STRiX claims the bike can endure up to 80 minutes of intense off-road riding. The drivetrain is encased in a Chrome-Molybdenum tube frame and is equipped with Showa suspension at the front and an Ohlins unit at the rear, both of which are fully customizable. Braking is handled by Braktech, a Brembo sub-brand, featuring disc brakes on both wheels controlled by the handlebars. The bike offers various riding modes, which can be easily adjusted through an app to match personal preferences and different terrains.
The STRiX is fully waterproof, thanks to its IP68 certification, allowing it to be submerged in water without sustaining any damage. Its wheelbase is 1,485 mm, with a seat height of 960 cm and a ground clearance of 355 mm. The military model weighs 130 kg and can carry an extra load of up to 150 kg. Featuring a robust design and precise craftsmanship, the bike has undergone extensive testing by several NATO defense forces, including recent trials in the Netherlands.
We can’t disclose much about the riders, but one of them was a former Belgian enduro champion. Both riders were impressed by the instant torque and power of these bikes and believe in the potential of this STRiX Hard Enduro model for military operations.
Electric off-road motorcycles deliver instant power and torque, making them extremely useful for tackling rugged terrain. This motorbike, when operating in stealth mode, remains silent until it’s within 20 meters, making it perfect for special missions and reconnaissance. Additionally, I discovered that the STRiX allows for tailored solutions for mounting guns and equipment and can support up to 150 kg of cargo, such as extra batteries, weapons, or gear. Integrated lighting ensures excellent visibility during crucial missions, boosting operational efficiency.

Guy Salens – THE PACK: “While talking afterwards with the Belgian Army representatives, I truly admired their vision and optimistic views on light electric off-road vehicles. It’s evident that they have already debated the advantages and disadvantages of ICE motorbikes versus electric alternatives. Interesting fact is, the newly appointed Belgian Minister of Defense is already an advocate for a modern military capable of tackling both national and international challenges. That could be an advantage for both the Belgian Army and STRiX …”
STRiX Hard Enduro production model 2025
The motorbikes used in these tests were early prototypes and might differ slightly from the final production model. STRiX kindly provided us with some images (and an extra video with the desert colour !) of the actual motorbike which will be deliverable in March 2025. STRiX eMotors Ltd. is represented by Electric Motorbikes, official importer for the Benelux market.
