Evoke Electric Motorcycles Develops Automatic Call Response System

January 20, 2018 January 10, 2023Guy SalensTechnology

Press release | Evoke Electric Motorcycles announced today that they are in development of an automatic call response system (ARC) and will be moving towards making them standard in all of their motorcycles. This announcement comes after the European Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers (ACEM) released a position paper on eCall devices for L-catergory vehicles, noting the important contribution to rider’s safety that eCall systems can have and calling for the appropriate standards to be adopted.

The Evoke ARC system is a safety system within the vehicle that detects when it has fallen over or crashed. In the event that the ARC system detects a crash, it will immediately message a pre-programmed phone number with the GPS coordinates of the bike so that the riders’ loved ones can assess the situation and provide assistance if necessary. Additionally, the Evoke ARC system also works when the bike is turned off and will message the bike’s owner if it detects it has fallen over.

Within the next few years, Evoke Electric Motorcycles hopes to integrate its ARC system with local emergency call centres (PSAPs) to provide faster and more comprehensive roadside assistance for its riders.

About ACEM
The European Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers (ACEM) represents manufacturers of mopeds, motorcycles, three-wheelers and quadricycles (L-category vehicles) in Europe.
