The Rezon Motorcycles team, operating out of the Czech Republic, has officially launched their new flagship model, the Rezon Bohemia. This marks the beginning of the Rezon Motorcycles brand, which has taken over as the successor to Alrendo Motorcycles. In addition, the team provided an explanation for the failure of Alrendo motorcycles.
Alrendo, what’s happened?
In 2023, Alrendo Europe stopped their trading operations due to complications arising from their partnership with Alrendo Motorcycles China. The year before, Alrendo Europe had placed an order for 3 containers of motorcycles from Alrendo China, but only received 2. Currently, the TS Bravo model is being sold on Alibaba by Alrendo China. Additionally, Alrendo Europe did not receive any spare parts from Alrendo China which caused difficulties in maintaining already sold motorcycles in Europe. To keep up with demand, 3 new motorcycles and 2 used ones were used for spare parts at the distribution warehouse in Prague. This issue has been acknowledged and has made it difficult to supply dealerships with necessary spare parts.
The Alrendo.com domain will soon serve as an e-commerce platform where existing customers from Alrendo can purchase spare parts. The goal is to launch the platform by May 2024, although this date is only an estimate due to the need for new suppliers to provide certain parts.
Connor McRae, ex-Head of Europe for Alrendo and now Director of Europe for Rezon, said “We are deeply disappointed and saddened that our co-operation with Alrendo China came to such a painful end, but it has given us the knowledge to start our own project, learning from the mistakes of our ex-business partner. The demand for a motorcycle in this segment is still very much there and it has been so frustrating not being able to deliver what we expected.”
As Alrendo Europe came to a close, a new motorcycle brand emerged: Rezon Motorcycles. It wasn’t just Alrendo Europe that split ways with Alrendo China; the creator and designer of the TS Bravo also left to establish Rezon, alongside a team of technicians and the Business Development director.
Jan Vrana, Business Director of Rezon Motorcycles said “After over 12 months of radio silence, I am proud to announce the Rezon Bohemia. We have been working very hard to fill the gap in the market of a long range, full size electric motorcycle for under 12,000 euros”.
The Rezon Bohemia boasts interesting features, including a 15.3 kwh battery pack with a range of 260 km, a top speed of 140 km/h, and an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6 seconds. Equipped with Nissin brakes, Michelin tires, and a 6.6 kw onboard charger, this model also offers both AC and DC charging capabilities as standard. The European versions of the Bohemia will be manufactured in the Czech Republic and classified as an A1 class vehicle, meaning it can be ridden by anyone with a license for a gearless 125cc bike. The MSRP for this model is 11,899 euros (including 21% VAT) and does not include any potential government incentives. For a full list of specifications, please visit their website.
Rezon is taking pre-orders immediately and estimate delivery of the first motorcycles to customers in June 2024. Rezon Motorcycles invites everyone to stay updated with their latest developments and advancements by following them.
Guy Salens, THE PACK: “It was time to clarify the situation and I was relieved to hear that the new team had found a solution: creating their own motorcycle company, Rezon Motorcycles, after cutting ties with Alrendo in China. After talking to Connor McRae (Director Europe), it was comforting to know that they were taking responsibility for their European clients from ‘Alrendo.’ I can’t wait to test out the new Bohemia model in either Belgium or the Netherlands. We will keep you updated on our progress.”
