Electric driving is clearly on the rise. The “Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland” in The Netherlands has announced that from 1 January 2023 the MIA/Vamil scheme will again apply to electric motorcycles. This means that in addition to the already existing KIA (in Dutch: “Kleinschaligheids Investerings Aftrek”) (28%), you can make use of MIA (in Dutch: “Milieu Investerings Aftrek”) 27%. In addition, the Vamil measure applies, which allows depreciation of a maximum of 75% of the light electric vehicle in the first year.

Gert-Jan Rongen (Electric Motorbikes): “This measure only applies to new electric motorcycles that have not yet been registered. Many of you will say it’s unfair that this only applies to (only) Dutch entrepreneurs and I would certainly like to see a scheme where any interested motorcyclist can have access to various grants. But I think this measure will certainly ultimately have a positive effect for the motorcyclists. The market for young used electric motorbikes will therefore grow rapidly.
