J2R rolls out a new prototype, built with design studio Antracite

Newsflash! French e-moto maker J2R, already known to THE PACK readers for its city-focused Smol, has a new prototype on the road, developed together with French design and engineering studio Antracite.

The bike leans heavily on sheet metal, a choice that lets the aesthetic and the structural body share the same parts, keeping tooling costs down as the project moves toward series production. The riding position takes its cues from motocross: playful, agile, and built to feel at home cutting through city traffic rather than open trails. Combined with a bold, unapologetic style, it’s a clear early statement of what this next J2R model wants to be.

There’s still plenty of engineering work ahead before the prototype becomes a production-ready machine, but this marks the first real step on that road. Antracite has thanked J2R for the trust placed in the collaboration – and THE PACK will be watching to see where the project heads next.
