Zero Motorcycles launches summer discount on LS1 in Belgium and Netherlands

Zero Motorcycles is offering a summer discount on the LS1 electric scooter, valid from now until September 30, 2026. The promotion applies in both Belgium and the Netherlands, with the electric urban scooter positioned as an alternative to cars, trams, or trains, particularly during periods of high heat.

Specifications

The LS1 has a power output of 11 kW, placing it in the category equivalent to 125cc combustion-engine motorcycles. This is the same power class covered in THE PACK’s earlier explainer on continuous vs. peak power limits under UN/ECE Regulation No. 85, which governs how 11 kW electric motorcycles are licensed across Europe.

In mixed urban and rural riding, range is rated at up to 110 km per charge, with a top speed of approximately 100 km/h. A full charge costs approximately €1.40. The battery is removable, allowing charging without dedicated home charging infrastructure.

License requirements differ between the two markets: an A1 motorcycle license is required in the Netherlands, while a standard car driving license is sufficient in Belgium on these conditions:

  • B licence obtained before 1 May 2011 → automatically allowed to ride A1-class bikes (125cc/11kW), marked as code 372 on the licence.
  • B licence obtained from 1 May 2011 onward → need a 4-hour practical course at a driving school (no exam) to get code 372.
  • B licence obtained before 1 January 1989 → full A licence rights, any power, and this one does travel – it’s treated as a genuine A-category entitlement.
  • Territorial limit: code 372 (both the automatic and the 4-hour version) is valid only in Belgium. For riding abroad, a real A1 is required.

Company statement

Rein Middelburg, country manager for Benelux & Scandinavia at Zero Motorcycles, said the summer bonus follows last month’s Rider Bonus program, which offered up to €2,500 off selected models. He noted the new pricing brings the LS1 below €5,000 in Belgium and just above that threshold in the Netherlands, putting it in the same price range as an average speed pedelec. He added that the car-license eligibility in Belgium makes the pricing particularly relevant there.
