In the fourth quarter of 2021, Damon Motors is on a rollercoaster, highlighted by an additional $30 million in funding, expansion into Europe, announcement of a 110,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Surrey, BC, Canada, awarded 6 patents issued for its technologies and $45 million in orders for the HyperSport motorcycle.
We always teased Damon Motors (Vancouver, Canada) on social media to head up for Europe with their HyperSport Model, one of the smartest (and safest) electric motorcycles in the world at the moment. With the HyperSport, Damon has reinvented the relationship between motorbike and rider with some new AI technology like CoPilot™ and Shift™.
Guy Salens, THE PACK: “I have always been a fan of less-is-more designs. But this superbike has even more technological surprises. I am very curious about the driving behavior of this model and how I should deal with that technology on the road.”
For the Fighters …
And on top of that, Damon Motors also this week announced the exclusive release of the HyperFighter Colossus, a muscular streetfighter motorcycle. HyperFighter Colossus is the stripped-down version of Damon’s first motorbike, HyperSport, and built on the company’s HyperDrive™ technology. HyperDrive is the world’s first monocoque-engineered, 100 percent electric, multi-variant drivetrain, which is at the heart of all Damon motorcycles. 100 fully optional HyperFighter Colossus “First-in-Line” motorcycles will be available worldwide for pre-order beginning December 8 at 9 a.m. ET on damon.com. Once sold out, this version will be discontinued. Watch this video for a sneak preview of the Damon HyperFighter Colossus.
“The HyperFighter Colossus motorcycle redefines the streetfighter category with a powerfully-charged limited edition model,” said Jay Giraud, co-founder and CEO, Damon Motors. “The HyperFighter is a stripped-down demon of a bike that is not for the faint of heart, so that riders can fight traffic, fight gas, and fight compromise. We’re excited to give the naked sports bike fanatic everything they want, coupled with the unrivaled technological features found only on Damon bikes. Only 100 HyperFighter Colossus motorcycles will hit the road, making them highly coveted.”
Damon will officially unveil the HyperFighter Colossus at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) on January 5, 2022 at 12 p.m. PT in Booth CP-16 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Damon Motors’ global introduction of the HyperFighter Colossus comes as the company announces the successful completion of a $30M Series B funding round.
Key features of the HyperFighter Colossus include:
- 200 HP
- >200 Nm Torque
- 0-60 < 3 Seconds
- 170 mph Top Speed
- HyperDrive – The world’s first monocoque-constructed, 100 percent electric, multi-variant powertrain optimized for maximum performance, design and safety.
- CoPilot – 360˚ advanced warning system that uses radar, cameras and non-visual sensors to track the speed, direction and velocity of up to 64 moving objects around the motorcycle for unparalleled situational awareness.
- Shift – At the push of a button, patented electronic ergonomics allow riders to transform their riding position with adjustable handlebars position and a retractable windscreen to dramatically reduce wind resistance and increase long range comfort, all while in motion.
Additional groundbreaking specifics of the HyperFighter will be detailed at CES 2022. HyperFighter Colossus retails for $475 per month or $35,000 USD, and can be reserved with a fully refundable $250 deposit.

With the European market rapidly transitioning to electric vehicles, we are certain that this great continent will be a dominant market for Damon and the move towards safer and cleaner two-wheelers.”
“In many regions of Europe, two-wheelers are the primary mode of transport—and equally as important as electric mobility is safety,” said Dominique Kwong, co-founder & COO, Damon Motors. “Our 360° Co-Pilot system makes riding safer, and we want to lead the way to safer, cleaner mobility in Europe, where motorcycle culture is big. We look forward to changing the mindset that motorcycling can be safer and more accessible.”
Damon will begin its foray into Europe in 2022 with a Damon Roadshow across key European cities; followed by unique branded retail experience centers where consumers can view and test ride models. Once established, Damon plans to build a manufacturing plant to give the company the flexibility to cater specifically and rapidly to the vastly growing Euro e-market, and deliver on Damon’s aggressive sales volume targets. Damon will be creating country-specific websites and marketing experiences that will speak directly to its target audiences in their local languages.
“Europe is diverse. There are a large number of radically different cultures in the European market. Each country has its own unique culture, and often even within those countries there are myriad micro-cultures dependent on the region,” said Doug Penman, Chief Marketing Officer & VP, Brand, Damon Motors. “For this reason, Damon has a unique marketing strategy, advertising plan and product approach for each of these markets.”
As part of its European expansion efforts, Damon has appointed Dino Mariutti as Head of EU Operations. Mariutti is a seasoned global entrepreneur with 18 years of business experience working on two continents. Prior to Damon, Mariutti was a partner and founder of several startups in additive manufacturing and product innovation, such as IRIS Head-Up Display, achieving added safety to the automotive market by eliminating distractions. He also served as export director at CGS srl and regional director at TM Engineering. Now at Damon, Mariutti is building a world-class team ready to launch in different European countries, open Experience Centers, fulfill orders, and participate in Roadshows and events.
“As an avid motorcyclist, I believe that smarter and safer technologies need to be available to all two-wheel markets,” said Dino Mariutti, Head of EU Operations, Damon Motors. “I am focused on bringing Damon’s innovations to Europe and making Damon’s expansion a success that adds value to shareholders and all stakeholders alike.”
Damon is soft launching in Italy to validate its research, business model and go-to-market plan. The company has entered into a partnership with Italy-Based Bapro, headquartered in Correggio, the leading brand that produces chassis dynamometer test benches for the global automotive industry. As Damon builds out its US and European event calendar, the Bapro partnership will provide Damon with a high-energy demo roadshow tour experience.
