One of the first persons I ever contacted in the electric motorcycle world was Trui Hanoulle “elektrogirl”. In 2015, she realized a road trip from Belgium to Istanbul and back, on a Zero motorcycle. Besides Istanbul, she accomplished also 3 road trips of 7 months each on her motorcycle and some short travels. She stayed abroad in Armenia (3 months), China (2 months), Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, Indian Himalaya, Central Asia, Oman, Yemen, Caucasus, the Balkans …

After previous Electric Night Ride editions in Antwerp (Belgium), Luzern (Switzerland), I had the opportunity to ride the Electric Night Ride #3 in Paris (2018) with the guys from electricmotorbikes.nl (check our article >) where I met Trui in real life. Today, she is preparing the Electric Night Ride #4 in Stuttgart (together with Christian Jog) on Sunday July 7th from 04:30 – 13:00 hours.

Christian Jog: “We will meet in the early morning hours when it is still dark. Then we ride through some of the most beautiful places in and around Stuttgart. At each stop we take a few pictures for ourselves and other to enjoy. This will probably be between 04:00 and 8:00 (yes, that’s a.m.).”

Then we will park our bikes in the middle of the city, which allowed us to use the central market place. Right in front of the city hall / mayor’s house! This is so cool and I am very happy the city seems eager to have a few e-motorcycles riding around.

As this is a Sunday (and we must not disturb the church’s mass), between 9:00 and 11:00 we are not allowed to have anything resembling an event, yet. So only parking, then going to enjoy ourselves. I think “breakfast and chatter” in the nearby bistro.

About the Electric Night Ride

The Electric Night Ride is a group ride. It is an independent and NON-commercial event for electric motorcycles owners and friends not connected to any brand. The purpose is to obtain visibility and press coverage, to show the public which e-mobile options there are, how cool and how much fun they are. Electric is not the future, it is here NOW !

The world record of electric ride outs so far was 69 e-motorcycles/e-bikes/e-vehicles on the ENR#3 in Paris last year. In Stuttgart the organisation wants to break that record again, aiming at 70-80 or even a bit more?

For the history record:
– ENR#1 in Belgium (Antwerp) had 55 e-motorcycles/e-bikes
– ENR#2 in Switzerland (Luzern) had 43 bikes.
