Exploring the secrets of the regional Dutch kitchen on a Zero Black Forest

Cruising around on Instagram, I bumped (gently) into the account of Dutch culinary journalist Laura de Grave. You must know that cooking is one of my favourite hobbies to relax after a hard days work. And it became even better: Laura takes you on a trip through the Netherlands with a DSR Black Forest from Zero Motorcycles Benelux for her “DUTCH COOKBOOK” with the secrets of the regional Dutch kitchen.

She visits the country’s best fishermen, farmers and food producers and takes a peek behind the scenes in the kitchens of local chefs and bakers. From Limburg flan, Zeeland mussels and mustard soup from Groningen to Gouda cheese, seaweed and wild oysters … Laura discovered an amazing range of regional delights and products, all of which have their own fascinating stories. And she is on the road with one of the top models from Zero, the all roader DSR Black Forest.

Laura: “At the end of 2017 my Amsterdam Cookbook was published in both Dutch and English. I had crisscrossed the city many times looking for authentic recipes and culinary tales for the book. It was such a success that it wasn’t long before photographer Hans de Kort and I were joking that it was high time we started working on a follow-up. At the time I was busy trying to secure my motorcycle driving licence, so in all my enthusiasm I said to Hans, ‘A book about Dutch cuisine, on a motorbike!’ Amazingly, when I got around to hitting the road to research the book the Zero Motorcycles company agreed to lend me of one of their electric machines, which dovetailed perfectly with my plan to do everything as sustainably as possible.”
