Official Press release Zero Motorcycles | Riders looking for their first taste of electric motorcycles should head down to their local Zero Motorcycles dealership on 3 and 4 August to take advantage of a free test ride during the American manufacturer’s first nationwide open weekend.
Held at 14 dealerships in the UK and Ireland (see full listing below) the weekend is being hosted to celebrate the arrival of the transformational new Zero SR/F in Zero showrooms. In addition to the SR/F, all dealerships will have a number of other models from the all-electric Zero Motorcycles range to try out, including the 11kw S, supermoto styled FXS and the DSR adventure tourer (customers are advised to contact their local dealership to check exact models available to test ride).
With a massive 190Nm of torque, seamless power delivery and cutting edge electronics thanks to the combination of Bosch’s Motorcycle Stability Control system and Zero’s own Cypher III operating system, the SR/F sets a new benchmark for full-sized electric motorcycles. Add in a range of over 160 miles and recharge time of just an hour, and the latest generation Zero brings a new level of practicality to electric motorcycling.
Dale Robinson, Zero Motorcycles’ UK Country Manager commented: “We’re delighted to hold this nationwide demo weekend, our first ever, and look forward to giving hundreds of British motorcyclists their first taste of electric motorcycles.
“Already this summer we’ve been touring dealerships and biking hotspots with the SR/F and have been blown away by the response we’ve had.
“Electric motorbikes are new for pretty much all riders and we find that the best way to explain what they are all about is to let people experience the phenomenal smoothness and torque for themselves.
“As well as the transformational new SR/F, our dealers will have a number of other models available for test rides, including the learner legal, A1 licence, 11kw range and the very popular FXS and DSR models. Prices for the Zero range start at just over £9000 and running costs are much lower than those of a petrol powered bike, so if anyone is keen to try out an electric bike for themselves, or are just curious and want to find out some more, I would encourage them to come along and find out more.”
While appointments are not necessary for the demo weekend (customers need to bring their driving licence and appropriate riding gear) they are advised to contact their local dealership in advance to check availability and avoid disappointment.
