Back in April of 2022, THE PACK reported on a new electric off-road motorbike prototype being developed in Slovenia. Today, Marko Ukota, the CEO of the company behind the bike, has released a video about the launch of their future production model – the Flux Primo. This premium electric offroad motorbike is loaded with the latest performance features.
CEO – Marko Ukota: “In my 15 years of racing, I’ve experienced first hand the frustration of tracks shutting down and high costs of maintenance. I believe electric propulsion can drastically expand motorcycling to people and places never before possible, while offering a world of new digital possibilities to push performance. This is why Flux Performance was founded. I’m extremely excited to develop this new era with my brilliant teammates. The Primo is our proof of concept, it’s what we can do in a garage. This is just the beginning.”

Battery
The core of the Flux Primo is a 450V 7kWh battery pack that reaches a new high in energy density and power. The cells are all connected with an ultrasonically welded wire that functions as its own fuse, and are regulated by Flux’s advanced battery management system for heat control. To replace the expended battery, one can take it out from the right side of the bike and slip a recharged one in.
Marko: “We’re targeting global sales. The Primo is a first prototype, a development tool, not yet a production motorcycle. We plan to release the production motorcycle in 2024, with deliveries to customers starting in 2025.”

Motor
The water-cooled electric motor provides an immediate force and more strength than gas bikes. Yet what makes the Primo distinct is its electronic command system. With adjustable power and throttle response, this bike appeals to seasoned bikers and novices alike.

Tech
The vehicle control unit assembles information from detectors such as g-forces, degree of tilt, and wheel velocity to produce algorithms that enhance both safety and performance for the rider. With a programming-defined model, it is attainable to manage every aspect of the motorcycle using software code, creating fresh opportunities.
- 7 kWh swappable battery
- 85hp of peak electrical power will move you in front of any 450 out there. Instant torque will push anything out of the way. 200Nm on the output shaft, meaning a hefty 750Nm on the wheel.
- Limitless personalization from moped power to face bending full power via smartphone connection. With 6 different parameters, you can control not only how much power you have, but where and when you want it. You can also prepare personal maps, to have ready for any riding condition.
- Accelerometers, gyros, wheels speeds, vibration, GPS and a powerful processor. The Primo is a technological platform, paving the way for development of algorithms, which will improve lap times, safety, enable special modes and learn riders habits.
- Virtual clutch
- Active regenerative braking
- Reverse gear
- Now your dirtbike features theft protection, you can lock it with a PIN code via smartphone.

Virtual clutch / regen brake
The Primo stands out because of its digital lever, which functions like a standard clutch but with the added bonus of an electronic brake to help charge the battery. It can be custom-set to respond in just the way riders prefer. The virtual clutch is incredibly helpful during critical moments, and having digital control lets users adjust it as they please.

The Primo serves as Flux Moto’s testing apparatus, collecting data on their drivetrain technology and rider experience feedback. With this information in hand, they are aiming to launch the full production motorcycle at the end of 2024 with deliveries commencing in late 2025. Three distinct versions of the motorcycle will be available.
- Motocross
- Enduro (road legal)
- Supermoto (road legal)
