Gigi Montrose: redefining Moto Couture

“Stay discreetly styled.” It’s more than a tagline, it’s a mindset. For Ginger Damon, founder and designer of Gigi Montrose Moto Couture, riding is as much about self-expression as it is about freedom.

“I’ve always been fascinated by riders,” Gigi says. “When someone pulls up on a motorcycle, you immediately recognize them as a biker, but I wanted to know who they really are beneath the leather and helmets. What drives them, what they dream about.”

Her curiosity led to an unexpected revelation one night at a biker clubhouse. Dressed in couture amid a sea of black leather, distressed tees, and Converse chucks, she stood out, and yet, somehow, fit right in.

“At first, they thought I was in the wrong place,” she recalls with a laugh. “But once I said I was invited by Gunner, everything changed. These men welcomed me in and started sharing their stories, their passions, their triumphs, their dreams. I left that night feeling deeply connected to a world I hadn’t fully understood.”

That moment became the spark for Gigi Montrose Moto Couture.

“I told my boyfriend at the time, ‘I’m going to design motorcycle apparel for women.’ I didn’t even know why I said it, I just knew it had to happen.”

A new story for rider culture

For Gigi, that night revealed something bigger: the motorcycle world didn’t need another loud, over-branded statement. It needed a new kind of rebellion: subtle, informed, and conscientious.

“The classic image of the outlaw biker was born out of postwar rebellion,” she says. “But today’s riders are redefining that spirit. They’re artists, entrepreneurs, explorers, people who build, create, and live passionately. I wanted to design for them.”

Gigi Montrose Moto Couture was built on four cornerstones: Quality, Integrity, Classic Design, and Innovation. Her collections blend timeless aesthetics with technical performance, inspired by the practicality of life on two wheels.

“Every motorcyclist asks the same questions: What do I really need? Can I take it with me on the bike? Is it compact and multi-purpose? That’s where my design process begins.”

Luxury in motion

From silk scarves to CE-certified Kevlar® jackets, every Gigi Montrose piece balances form and function. “I use silk not because it’s luxurious, but because it’s strong, breathable, and compact, perfect for a rider’s lifestyle,” she explains. Her organic cotton tees are GOTS and OEKO-certified, and often feature artwork created by fellow riders she’s met on her journeys.

“These designs are stories,” she says. “Moments captured from the road, mine, and those of the people I’ve met along the way.”

When it comes to protective gear, Gigi takes no shortcuts. Partnering with an authorized DuPont Kevlar® manufacturer, her products are fully tested and CE-certified.

“A lot of brands rely on the fabric mill’s certification, but I test every piece,” she says. “As a consumer, I want to know what I’m investing in, and I owe that same transparency to my riders.”

Where fashion meets freedom

Today, Gigi Montrose Moto Couture is more than a brand: it’s a movement. A quiet revolution for riders who live between worlds: elegant and raw, refined and rebellious.

“That night at the clubhouse, I realized that we weren’t so different,” Gigi reflects. “We were just people with incredible stories, connected by a shared sense of freedom. That’s what I try to capture in my work, those fleeting, honest moments that make you feel alive.”

Stay discreetly styled.
Because true rebellion doesn’t have to shout.

The Pilote Hoodie, for The Discreetly Wild.

Guy Salens – THE PACK: “I am really excited to introduce a standout piece from Gigi Montrose’s Discreetly Wild Collection: the new Pilote Hoodie. It’s been designed specifically for urban modern mobility motorcyclists, a piece that bridges performance, safety, and luxury.

I’ve been wearing it myself for several months now, and I can say it’s incredibly comfortable. I really love the red cashmere detail on the inside, it adds this touch of warmth and understated luxury. The removable cap is a smart feature too; you can easily layer another hoodie underneath if you like. I even wear it in my daily life, even when I am not riding, and my mobile phone fits perfectly in the inside pocket :))

What makes this collection special is how it redefines rider culture, its protection and style in one. The hoodie uses a single-layer DuPont Kevlar® fleece for CE-certified protection, yet it feels soft and elegant. It’s protection you don’t see but always feel confident in. With Rheon armor designed just for this line, it’s made for those who want to move freely, from the café to the open road, with that discreetly wild spirit. It’s also interesting to know that Gigi is expanding and launching a new line for men!”

About Gigi Montrose

Gigi Montrose is the inspiration of forward thinking, nonconventional, breaking all-the-rules women with fierce determination and can do attitudes. These are the women whose character and vibrancy prompted me to give praise to women motorcyclist.

Ginger Damon: “I was brought up on old world European values. Buy good quality pieces that are made well and timeless. It’s your interpretation and expression of yourself and how you create your style. You can equally be expressive like Nick Cave, Johnny Rotten or Vivienne Westwood. It’s your choice to tell the story you want to tell that day. I just give you the artists palette to create and let’s face it, there is a little rebellion and punk rock in all of us.”

Ginger calls her motorcycle her greatest accessory, and wants to provide the ultimate technical apparel to women riders. Apparel that is also designed specifically for a women’s body. Feeling most women’s motorcycle jackets felt like hand-me-downs, or she is wearing her boyfriend’s clothes.

“I felt marginalized that my choices for motorcycle apparel were an after thought, ‘is this all I get?’ I felt I wasn’t being seen as a female rider”. Women motorcyclist needed a defined style. this was the brainchild of Gigi Montrose Moto Couture, feminine, rebellious and individual.
