The Pi1 is an electric two wheeler, that combines the character and interface of a bicycle with the power and speed of a light motorcycle. The base version of the Pi1 has an 8,000 Watt motor and a top speed of over 80 kph. The acceleration is fast enough to leave many cars behind (at the traffic light). The feeling of having surplus power and a performance level at or above many cars, on a bicycle, is the most fascinating and emotional appeal of the Pi1.
Technologically the Pi1 takes a new direction and represents a paradigm shift for the motorized vehicle world. The Pi1 goes beyond traditional e-bike concepts, by connecting the pedals to a generator (like a home trainer). Mechanically separated from the pedaling, the electric motor drives the rear wheel. Different from motorcycles though, the motor is not controlled through a hand throttle but through the speed of pedaling, similar to a bicycle. And this combination of motorcycle power controlled through pedaling is new, exciting and addictive.
The Gulas Pi1 is homologated as a light motorcycle (125cc class) with a top speed of over 80 kph. You need a motorcycle license to ride the Pi1 in some countries (Germany, UK, Sweden, Denmark, Holland) or you can use your car drivers license in others (France, Italy and Spain)

Traditional craftsmanship
We build each bike by hand in our workshop in Berlin. We use exclusive material of highest quality to create long-lived objects of value.
Exercise
We have turned the standard motorcycle world on it’s head by expecting the rider to be physically active himself in order to get and keep moving. You will be surprised how much fun it is to exercise when you feel super human.
Green technology
Our vehicles are using the same patented electric drive train and are emission free. The Gulas PI1 has an efficiency of about 5 kWh/100 km.
