Source: website Huck Cycles | Rebel & Karma are hand-built, made in the U.S.A., electric mopeds for people who want more than a bike, but something smaller than a motorcycle. To many, the Scrambler is the heart of motorcycling, and it fulfills the dream of freedom, adventure and self-expression. That is why they used the scrambler as the inspiration for Huck. A throwback style electric moped, that makes you feel something while you wander from the streets to the trails.
Brett McCoy, their fearless leader, grew up far from the crowded, noisy streets of urban America. Silver Creek, New York was not a place where anyone’s spice of life was variety. When there is no particular place, no urgent destination in which to get, the journey becomes the destination, the reason to move is in the movement itself. Certain personality types seek out exhilaration where there is none. Brett McCoy is this type. When he was 8 years old, he got his first dirt bike, an old Honda 50. Finally, he had something to do that was safer and more fun than jumping off his roof and creating small explosions. There was an easy joy, an effortless perfection that Brett felt on that bike. This feeling has been the subject of a lifelong pursuit.
When we get a taste of thrill and ease at an early age, many of our subsequent years can center around the chase, the search for that original joy we felt as kids. We can seek it out in myriad avenues, in solitary adventures, in social dynamics, in personal and professional accomplishments. Brett McCoy has actively pursued these avenues in order to find that original stoke of his youth. Would he be able to find it? If so, would he be able to share it with the others that may be questing for that nostalgic, perfection of youth?
Huck is the culmination of that search – equal parts destination and journey. Life is often times the void in between point A and point B. To fill in that gap with emotion and experience is, ultimately, the goal. On a Huck cycle, the destination is secondary. See you out there!
