These guys from iMotoX have invited me at the new and exciting indoor electric motorcross track in Glasgow (Scotland). Sounds like great fun but unfortunately I didn’t got there due to my other activities in the graphic design world (deadlines you know). Well, we have a lot of communication technology these days, so that shouldn’t be the problem to get some information.
Outdoor motorcross parks with traditional petrol bikes are having more and more difficulties to maintain their presence (because of their noise and fumes). In Belgium for instance, Joël Smets (five-time world champion) is working with a large team to look for possible solutions to bring new life into Belgian motocross. Electric motorcross parks could be a good solution for the motorcross sport.
iMotoX has understood this and has built an indoor electric motorcross track in Glasgow. There are three tracks, one to suit small kids, one suitable for learners and a challenging track with jumps and berms for the more experienced.
If you have never ridden a dirt bike before, iMoto X is the ideal place to learn, practice and improve your riding. Their friendly and experienced instructors will have you up and running in no time. For the more experienced, once their instructors have assessed your riding, you can ride as much as you want in 10 min sessions. For parents with children, iMotoX has an assortment of child friendly and safe bikes with a dedicated kids track where your little ones can learn the basics with the instructors on hand to help.
Bikes
All the electric bikes are easy to ride, no clutch, no gears! Just twist and go. Their electric bikes give all riders the adrenalin rush they need in a safe and controlled environment without the noise and fumes from petrol bikes. iMotoX has bikes suitable for kids from 5 years old as well as e-bikes suitable for teens and adults.
- Adults: KTM Freeride E
- Small adults: Sur-Ron MX
- Teens: Kuberg Freerider
- Kids: Oset MX10
Safety first
Every rider is obliged to put on our safety clothing: helmet, boots and body armour. If you own your own moto-x safety clothing, you are more than welcome to wear that on the track but the equipment must be of a suitable standard. Kid’s must be able to ride a bicycle without stabilisers before the instructors can teach them how to ride.
i-MotoX Location
Not far from the M74 and close to Linn Park Glasgow, i-MotoX indoor motocross tracks are ideally located for ease of access with free parking. It is also a few minutes drive from Cathkin Braes MTB trails so it is possible to make a day out and visit both sites.
