B2B News | Source: press release Kerv Automotive | Belgian OEM Kerv Automotive has purchased the technology and intellectual property rights from the Dutch car maker Carver. This strategic move allows Kerv Automotive to broaden its range in the market for vehicles featuring an active tilting system. The acquisition was made possible through a partnership between Slim Vehicle Technology B.V., Kerv Automotive’s parent company, and the Danish firm Lynx ApS, which will lead the efforts to restart production.

The vehicle concept employed by Kerv and Carver has attracted a large number of enthusiastic supporters over time. The active tilting mechanism provides a natural balance to this compact and nimble vehicle. Kerv views the acquisition of Carver as a beneficial step in advancing its internally designed high-speed model towards production as a fully electric version.

Carver halted its operations in July 2024 because of financial struggles and concerns about quality. On the other hand, Kerv has shown that their technology is prepared for advancement. Moving forward, there will be a review of resuming sales of the Carver models, but with better pricing and adherence to proper quality standards. With Lynx as a production partner, preparations to bring Carver vehicles back into production are already underway.

Simultaneously, Kerv will assess the optimal ways to assist current Carver owners and rejuvenate as well as maintain the service and spare parts network. Arjan Voorbij, CEO and Co-founder of Kerv Automotive adds: “Our aim is to reconnect with the current owners and retail partners to ensure continuity and availability of service and parts. This will take time, but it sure is a priority.”
“This acquisition fits perfectly with the Kerv philosophy as the concept of both Kerv and Carver has many fans and when people test-drive it, any doubt quickly turns into enthusiasm. So, by making the Carver models more widely available — and elevating quality to the level we require — we’re narrowing that awareness gap”. He adds: “Our mission is to offer compact vehicles that are safe for both urban and highway use, and active tilting plays a central role in that vision.” continues Arjan Voorbij.
