Source: Best of Bikes | Peter Loozen has recently opened his new BoB Experience Center in Paal (Belgium). Peter was already a few years online on the market with the BoB K1S but has now a physical store in the center of the city.
BoB K1S is a fat tire electric scooter with a minimalistic design and is a perfect solution for your personal e-mobility needs. BoB owner Ted Geurts (The Netherlands) is pleased to have a Belgian BoB Experience Center in Limburg: “We were already shipping scooters all over the world, but we are still looking for physical stores in Europe. Test riding and visibility is still important, not to mention the after-service. That seems to be forgotten sometimes when people buying online.”
BoB K1S is homologated for the European roads and can be transformed for many purposes: work-home traffic, individual use & fun, last mile solution, cargo, use for hotel guests and even on the golf court …
The BoB Bike K1S is constructed from aluminum alloy and has a curb weight of 43 kg, which is much lighter than its competitors but still heavier than most electric bikes.
With a top speed of 25 or 45 km/u, which can be reached using the full size twist throttle, cruising gets easy and comfortable on the Bob Bike K1S. The tire profile makes it easy and fun to ride this electric scooter and is not comparable with any other moped.
The motor (1,000 watts of power with the ability to temporarily boost to 1,500 peak watts) feels stronger than comparable motors of the same wattage output, and is able to easily climb moderate to steep hills and keep the rider at top speed until the battery runs dry.
The Bob Bike K1S runs on a 48 volt system and has a 20 ah battery for an estimated max range of 60 km. The battery is located beneath the deck, which keeps the center of gravity low and helps add even more stability to the K1S. The battery location also keeps it safe from dirt and debris, and the battery can be quickly and easily removed for those who want to swap it out to keep riding even further.
With a small LCD display on the left side of the handlebars, you can check your speed and battery level. The display has a built-in RFID reader and the K1S is unlocked via a provided RFID card. (A RFID, smart card, also called a chip card or an integrated circuit (ICC or IC card), is a small (typically a wallet-sized) plastic card with an embedded chip that connects with the security device that requires the cardholder’s verification of authenticity).
