New eMoto Class in 2025
The organizers of Red Bull Romaniacs are thrilled to announce the addition of four new classes for the 2025 competition. Adventure motorcycles will now have two options: the Ultimate Class and the Lite Class, while eMoto motorcycles will also have two choices: the Expert Class and the Hobby Class. Each category will have an entry-level option for casual competitors and a more advanced level for expert riders, providing opportunities for participants with varying skill levels in both disciplines.
Martin Freinademetz: “We really want to be the first rallye style event to be a part of the eMoto development, we don’t know which direction things will go but we want to support the industry and I think Red Bull Romaniacs is a very good test for the eMoto bikes. We want to be part of the future in this sector and are excited to be the first hard enduro rallye to introduce two classes for eMoto’s.
The release of the eMoto Class showcases Martin Freinademetz’s determination to stay ahead of the game and propel the sport into the future while also promoting environmental consciousness. The 2024 Limitless Edition marked the debut of eMotos on the Romaniacs tracks, with seven riders competing in a range of classes to test their skills in long-distance hard enduro races and challenging technical sections.
Insights and feedback gathered from tests in 2024 are currently being used to design the first year of eMoto specific classes. The rapid advancements and research in the eMoto industry have led Freinademetz and Track Director, Teo Isac, to consider adjusting the distance and technicality of the tracks closer to the start date in order to keep up with bike technology. Typically, eMoto tracks will be approximately 35 km in length before reaching the Service Point, with an additional 20 km after allowing time for battery recharge during the pit stop.
The eMoto racing class will participate in the 2025 Prolog track alongside other classes. However, due to their ability to race on shorter tracks and in rallies, the entry fee will be adjusted to make it more appealing to participants.
