NXT Motors is preparing for mass production

August 23, 2017 January 17, 2021Guy SalensCafe racer, Naked bike, NewsNXT Motors, NXT One, NXT One Naked, NXT One Racer

Electric Motorcycles News was invited at NXT Motors (Heerenveen – The Netherlands) to discover their first prototype of the NXT One Racer. We had a nice discussion with Harm Besseling, founder and Managing Director at NXT Motors in their temporarily pop-up office at the Canal in Heerenveen.

NXT Motors is very ambitious and down to earth when they speak about the future. NXT Motors successfully closed its first crowd funding campaign in summer 2016 through the Dutch platform Symbid and has now a 2nd going on at the same platform. They are raising funds to finalise the development of their first electric motorcycle of which they have a prototype available (see pictures). The raised capital shall bring NXT Motors in the position to prepare for mass production.

At the beginning, 2 showrooms in The Netherlands will be created to inform the public and sales will be done by their own on-line sales channel.

NXT One

NXT ONE is the first development project of NXT Motors and – along the way – turned out to have the potential to derive 2 models from. The now called NXT ONE Series includes high performance, fully electric naked bike and café racer concepts that are currently in prototyping phase.

Both models offer an unparalleled and seamless driving experience and a driving range of up to 200km*. With a projected standing start from 0 to 100 km/h in under 3 seconds**, this is the type of motorcycle that will make your heartbeat rise. NXT Motors’ zero-emission drive trains are a guarantee for low operating cost and stunning efficiency. We are not making use of a gearbox, which is turning into offering the easiest and smoothest ride ever.

NXT ONE Series will be prepared for using fast charging facilities, both at home and on the road. That will put no limits on doing longer trips, exceeding the long range that is already offered through the standard battery pack. Optionally, an on-board charger will be available to be used at the standard electricity outlet, just anywhere.

(*) NXT Motors’ numbers are based on theoretical calculations and will soon be confirmed through testing with the prototype models.
(**) Range is depending by driving mode and can obviously be affected by individual driving style.

NXT One Naked

The naked bike concept offers the best alternative for frequent commuting. This shows through the ultimate combination of sportive riding with a comfortable drive position, but without compromising on enjoying your weekend rides. 100% electric for 100% of the time.

The gearless, electric drive train offers high performance and direct availability of torque, which results in a dynamic driving style. Thanks to the single piece handlebar, you will not want to stop riding due to the comfy driving position. As weekends offer the possibility of a different type of ride compared to daily commuting, you won’t be disappointed when tearing through the bends during your next exploring trip.

NXT One Naked will come in a two-seater configuration, along with the possibility to attach luggage such as tail bags or top case. Dual front brakes offer the perfect control over the motorcycle. Adaptive LED headlight knows when you’re turning and adjust the light with additional LEDs to eliminate potentially dangerous blind spots.

A selection of optional equipment will be released at time of launch to meet your individual requirements.

NXT One Racer

Just a couple of minor modifications to the design turn the pure naked bike into a café racer model. Lower handle bars let you duck in the wind and enjoy the excitement of the available power. The shorter seating position allows for driver and bike to become one and experience the pure joy of the individual ride. Me, myself and my NXT One!

The gearless, electric drive train offers high performance and direct availability of torque. This allows to keep full attention on the road and your environment without the distraction of gearing up and down. The driving position is demanding you to experience this pure performance time after time.

NXT One Racer will come in driver seat configuration at first. Clip-on handles offer a more sportive driver position. The dual front brakes offer the perfect control over the motorcycle. The adaptive LED headlight knows when you’re turning and adjust the light with additional LED’s to eliminate potentially dangerous blind spots.

A selection of optional equipment will be released at time of launch to meet your individual requirements.

2nd crowdfunding campaign

Today (August 23th 2017), there are still 24 days left to invest and the campaign has achieved already 50% of € 100,000. More info can be found on the website of Symbid >
