The genuine engineering company OMotion based in Hjärup, Sweden has developed the OMotion ETR, a fully electrical three-wheeled motorcycle. The OMotion ETR is an electric three-wheeled reversed motorcycle also known as an electric trike. The low and compact design gives the driver a feeling of closeness to the road and a sense of freedom.

About OMotion

OMotion was started in 2013 in Lund, southern Sweden by Ola Svensson. It is a genuine engineering company with a background in embedded development, programming and renewable energy projects. The idea of creating the trike came from Olas interest in motorcycles. Combining that interest with the development in battery technology, electrical motors and embedded applications opened up for the possibility to put a new kind of transport vehicle on the road. The vision of the electric trike OMotion ETR was born.

OMotion ETR – Electric trike

The engineering team has developed a brand new unique motor control with a battery monitoring system to ensure optimized performance and the best driving experience. Each vehicle part has been hand-picked based on quality and design to make sure you have the ultimate look-and-feel.

“The EEC approval of our electric trike is a major milestone for us. It means that the ETR is approved for European traffic!”

The power is generated in the rear wheel hub motor and delivers a peak power of 21,7 kW @ 820 rpm and a continuous power of 8 kW. This results in an acceleration of 0-80 km/h in sub 7 seconds and a max speed of 110 km/h.

The electric control system consists of an ECU (Electric Control Unit), a BMS (Battery Monitoring System), an inverter which provides power to the motor, electric hub motor and various actuators and indicators. The ECU takes inputs from the driver, controls the motor and communicates with onboard and external communication devices. The BMS monitors the battery and sends status and alerts back to the ECU.

Via the bluetooth connection to the ECU, you can connect your mobile device to the monitor vehicle, motor and battery status & statistics. You can attach your mobile device as an extra panel to view additional metrics besides the standard dashboard interfaces. The app is also used to provide the possibility to do remote troubleshooting.
