Founder Job van de Kieft became world champion solar racing with Nuna, the solar racing car of the Nuon Solar Team from Delft. This tastes for more and in a short notice, Job sets up a company and, together with Jan Willem van Gent, builds a top team.
Electric driving
In the years after the solar race in Australia, Job continues to work on electric vehicles and electric driving. In 2014, it was time doing some business and to launch an innovating company. He researches the market of electric vehicles and ends up in a market where electric vehicles have been driven for more than 40 years; the market of the mobility scooters. “Electric mobility really means independence for this group of users. But it is precisely this market that hasn’t been updated for 40 years, “says Job.
“An eye-opener for me, especially because this vehicle has 2 major problems. First, they are experienced as being very stigmatizing, so that people sometimes prefer to stay at home rather than being seen on a scooter. Secondly, mobility scooters are unsafe. I felt that with my ideas, background and network I could make the difference and saw a huge opportunity. Scoozy: the ‘Tesla’ among the mobility scooters.”
In 2016 he met his old well-known and current partner Jan Willem van Gent, world champion Nuna5. This is followed by an exciting period. The idea for Scoozy is worked out and explored. Eventually in 2016 the company Scoozy B.V. was founded. Scoozy was further developed and the necessary funding is being collected. The very first prototype will be delivered at the beginning of 2017. And with success with nice reviews in press and media.
Tesla style
Soon the requests for test drives are coming in. After the test drives it is already possible to make a pre-order, based on the story of Tesla. It turns out to be a smart move; the waiting list for the first series is full in no time. A nice sign for Job and Jan Willem to continue with their innovation. It is rewarded by the innovation sector. With the prototype and and their vision, Scoozy wins a lot of prizes.
Collaboration with partners
Scoozy works together with a number of partners who are at the top of their expertise. A Shared Smart Factory was found in Emmen for the production of Scoozy. Technologies Added offers a production-line that is generally only available for the major players in the automotive industry. Now it is also accessible to start ups, which also offers the possibility to scale up quickly.
Multifunctional
Scoozy is prepared to conquer many markets. For example, testing with autonomous driving, there are orders for package delivery in the city and the ideas are already ready to work together with holiday and golf parks.
Scoozy Fleet
Scoozy is ideally suited to manage as a fleet at, for example, parks, golf courses, nursing homes or student campus areas. With a handy app you can see where Scoozy’s are driving and what’s their status. A rental option from the fleet to the end-user is also possible. Payments, service and maintenance are completely taken care of.
