B2B Manager from CAKE, Sinje Gottwald, is crossing the African Continent, from Europe to South Africa on a Kalk AP. Two batteries, a satellite telephone and an adventure spirit beyond limits. THE PACK asked her very kindly if we could publish her (electric) travel diary, and she said yes! South Africa
Almost there! I crossed into South Africa – the last border crossing of this adventure and it only took 10 minutes. It’s beautiful here, very dry and hot and the only challenge at this point is load shedding.
Cape Town
I MADE IT!!!!! I finally arrived in Cape Town today after crossing the African continent from north to south on my electric motorcycle – solo and unassisted as the first person ever. After all the challenges and obstacles along the way I feel so relieved and happy to be here, proud to have made it and a bit melancholic this adventure is now ending.
Not many people thought that this mission would be possible and I am extremely grateful to the few that believed in me from the very beginning. Thank you so much Stefan Ytterborn and the whole CAKE team for supporting me in this adventure! I am grateful for the trust you have placed in me. Thank you also to Forcite, Enduristan and Nomadix!
A very big thank you to everyone who followed along and sent kind messages/left comments, they really helped! Thank you!
