Blitz Motors was founded in 2012 and has a research and development center in Tel Aviv (Israel). Together with a group of engineers, owner and CEO Raphael Moszynski is the driving change towards a more environmentally friendly and cost-efficient electric solution for last-mile solutions and urban transport on two wheels. Following their domestic success story with major customers such as Domino’s Pizza, McDonalds, FedEx, Pizza Hut and Post Office, BLITZ Motors is now targeting the European fleet market. In the first stage, a new head office and experience center will be located in Belgium for the Benelux. After that, other European countries will follow.

BLITZ3000X

THE PACK was very curious about their electric scooter and it was nice to hear that we could try out the robust and tough looking electric scooter BLITZ3000X for one week. This model has 2 versions: an L1 (max 45 km/h) and L3 (max 90 km/h). We were able to test the “motorcycle” version in a matt black version, a very stylish appearance.

BLITZ Motors has created a simpler, cleaner and more cost-efficient means of transport for last mile cargo. A full-service solution for fleet managers, including 24/7 customer service to support operations, insurance and fleet maintenance.

We noticed immediately that we do not have any hassle with charging cables. BLITZ Motors has deliberately chosen for a portable external docking station with removable batteries. As this scooter is mainly intended for the professional market, the courier does not have to pause to connect the scooter to a charger (of course he can drink a coffee every now and then). The battery system (under the seat) can contain 3 Lithium NMC batteries, where you can easily check the status of the battery with your finger with an LED-touch indication system. One such waterproof battery weighs about 7 kg and can be easily removed for recharging in the charging station. By the way, this station is very compact (36 cm (H) x 28 (W) cm x 28 (L) cm) and can easily be placed in any room with a normal socket. You can fully charge the two batteries at the same time in less than 2 hours.

The starting procedure is very straightforward: turn the key, click the switch on “D” and go, simple as that. All lights turn on automatically and the scooter drives off smoothly and silently. Unfortunately, our scooter was tuned “a little more brave” and limited to a maximum speed of 75 km/h. This can be checked and changed with the BLITZ App per scooter and depending on the driving behaviour of the rider.

The motor (3000 W) and BrushLess Direct Current (BLDC) technology demonstrate the innovative character of BLITZ Motors. Neodymium-Bohr N38 magnets are attached to the wheels, which are very powerful, stable and heat-resistant. Combined with a half kilometer long insulated copper coil, it is connected to the main shaft. This carries the high currents needed to drive fantastic torque and keep the wheel turning.

With my height of 1m82 I had a very comfortable and upright sitting position with more than enough space for my legs. A box or shopping bag can even be transported via the bottom plate that is 44 cm wide. In terms of storage space, you are dependent on a top case or another type of suitcase. The storage space under the saddle is also taken up by the removable batteries. But the BLITZ3000X comes standard with a rigidly mounted rear rack with pre-drilled holes for mounting various luggage systems. Depending on the application, various types of loading boxes, flight cases or food bags can be mounted on this. A modest (and lockable) glove box is present in the steering column but the size is only suitable for a wallet, keys or a disc lock.

As already mentioned, BLITZ Motors mainly focuses on the professional fleet market for last-mile solutions, food- and parcel delivery. There is a space for a duo passenger, but the BLITZ3000X was not actually developed for that. With this scooter, BLITZ Motors is mainly targeting the fleet market, more specifically courier companies and take-away services. But, for example, care companies that need to be able to send their people out quickly in the city can also use this electric scooter. For example, I also think that electric scooters can be a worthy replacement vehicle for garages if you bring your car or motorcycle in for maintenance or repair. I also see opportunities in the tourism sector, for example hotels that can offer electric scooters as an extra service to their customers for day trips or to discover a city.

With the BLITZ App, you have full control about this electric scooter. From fleet management to monitoring driver behavioural data, the BLITZ App puts the power back into the palm of your hand and takes your ownership experience to the next level:

Conclusion THE PACK:

This large scooter has clearly been developed for the professional market. In the city, the BLITZ3000X feels most in its element: stop, start, quickly place the scooter on the sidestand or on the centerstand to deliver something. No exhaust fumes, of course, no noise, engine does not heat up, maintenance-friendly: the typical advantages of electric driving. The vision to use removable batteries and an external portable charging station is fully in line with the philosophy of the fleet market: the scooter can be used almost continuously for various applications. As a private user, you may be a little more limited because your personal charging station is located in your office or at home. This means that you always have to return to one and the same place to recharge the batteries. Recharging while on the road is not possible because of no charging cable. But the range makes up for it (200 km with the 45 km/h version).

The BLITZ3000X has a pleasant ride and feels immediately “at ease”. The smaller wheels give you a safe feeling when cornering, the front wheel follows perfectly and everything stays in balance. Everything remains very controlled. For me it could be set at 90 km/h, but you can always arrange that with the fleet manager who manages the BLITZ App …

For individual buyers

Also for private use, the BLITZ3000X is a durable and maintenance-friendly solution for use in the city, commuting or just fun.
