For three days, the Zandvoort Circuit was transformed into a hub for electric vehicles and the newest e-mobility solutions. During the 5th EV Experience (September 26-28), attendees were able to experience a wide range of sustainable and electric vehicles, making it the largest showcase of its kind in the Netherlands. From electric cars to heavy-duty trucks at the E-Truck Experience, as well as mini-cars and other emission-free transportation options for urban areas such as e-cargo bikes, mopeds, and motorcycles.
As always, the pit boxes were converted into inviting meeting areas where major car brands showcased their latest models. And for those daring enough, there was an opportunity to take a spin on the track with a guided ride. Thursday and Friday were reserved for business, while Saturday was open to the public.
THE PACK Plaza / EV Experience 2024
Maarten Pompen – EV Experience: “In our 2024 edition, we wanted also to focus on the advantages of using electric motorcycles and mopeds. These lightweight vehicles are ideal for navigating busy city streets and beyond. With a wide range of options available, they cater to various purposes such as commuting, leisurely rides, off-roading adventures, long-distance travel, and even last-mile delivery solutions. This is why we have partnered with Guy Salens from THE PACK ‘Electric Motorcycle News’, who came up with the concept of ‘THE PACK Plaza.’ Through this collaboration, we are able to showcase numerous startups and their innovative electric motorcycle designs to the public.”
Guy Salens – THE PACK: “We were fortunate to have the opportunity to showcase our lineup at this unique plaza, even in the midst of heavy rain. Despite the weather, it was clear that there is a growing curiosity and passion for this mode of transportation, especially with the rise of electric cars. Many attendees were genuinely intrigued and recognized the advantages of these two-wheeled vehicles, not just for daily commutes but also for leisure activities.”
2024 Lineup
E-pioneer Gert-Jan Rongen, from multi-brand shop Electric Motorbikes, brought a variety of models from Zero Motorcycles, RGNT Motorcycles, Etalian, and UBCO. Kawasaki showcased their electric motorcycles, the Z e-1 and Ninja e-1, as possible options for city commuting. Additionally, GoWow presented their newest off-road motorcycle called Ori, which comes in both 45 km/h and 90 km/h versions. Vmoto also brought out their full range of electric motorcycles and mopeds, including the newly released Stash model and their solutions for cargo delivery in the cities. Despite the stormy weather on Friday, Niels Kleinlooh, marketing manager of LiveWire, braved the rain to introduce the S2 Del Mar (for a couple of hours) – much appreciated! On the following day, Cornee Bosmans, one of the organizers of the Electric Night Ride Helmond/Eindhoven, also joined in and added his personal sport-touring model Zero SR/S to the lineup. Last but not least, students from the University of Twente proudly displayed their superbike VECTOR-ST to the public.
