Verge Next to showcase first Scooter Platform at EICMA 2025
Verge Motorcycles is set to unveil the first scooter powered by its Verge Next technology platform at this year’s EICMA trade fair in Milan (November 4–9).
Launched in spring 2024, Verge Next is the company’s B2B division, dedicated to accelerating the electrification of urban mobility. By licensing its modular platform of components and software, Verge aims to help manufacturers develop new electric mopeds and scooters faster and more cost-efficiently.

“The Verge Next technology platform is the answer to the wishes of industry operators, but it is also a significant opportunity to move towards lower-emission mobility. We launched our Verge Next unit last spring, and we have already received dozens of contacts from businesses interested in using the devices and technology that we have developed. Indeed, partnerships have already been established with some operators, and some of our customers are telling us that they will incorporate our solutions into their upcoming models in the near future”, says Verge Motorcycles CEO and Verge Next unit lead Tuomo Lehtimäki.

Donut Motor at the Core
At the heart of the Verge Next platform is Verge’s signature donut motor, integrated directly into the wheel. Already recognized in the motorcycle world, the technology has now been scaled down for smaller two-wheelers.
- 12-inch motors available in power ratings from 2 kW to 15 kW
- Torque output between 80 and 350 Nm, depending on configuration
- Seamless integration with Verge’s battery modules, software suite, and multi-functional display screens
Manufacturers can adopt the entire platform for a complete plug-and-play solution, or select individual components, for example, fitting a donut motor into a scooter built with traditional systems.

EICMA World Premiere
The very first scooter built on the Verge Next technology platform will make its debut at EICMA 2025, offering visitors a first look at how this scalable system can be applied to urban two-wheelers. Verge Motorcycles will showcase the model at Hall 9, Stand M80.
