Yadea expands GT80 Electric Maxi-Scooter into Indonesia, Thailand and Nepal

Indonesia launch
Yadea Indonesia introduced the GT80 through an online reveal on its TikTok channel, positioning the scooter as a Grand Touring model aimed at long-distance comfort rather than pure city commuting. The Indonesian version features an aerodynamic bodywork with a blade-like front fascia and a tapered tail light, plus a full-LED lighting system. Equipment includes Traction Control, Hill Descent Control, Hill Hold Control, reverse mode, cruise control, Combined Braking System and smartphone map mirroring. A dual-battery configuration is available in this market, extending range up to 190 km under WMTC testing.
Thailand launch
In Thailand, Yadea introduced the GT80 as part of its premium electric maxi-scooter range, without disclosing detailed specifications at launch. The brand has positioned the model there as a flagship addition to its local lineup. Yang Xiaofei, CEO of Yadea Technology (Thailand) Co., Ltd., the manufacturer and distributor of Yadea electric vehicles in Thailand, said that to reinforce their leadership in smart electric vehicles with a global business base and nine consecutive years as the top-selling electric two-wheeler brand, launching the GT80 and GT80-P models under the “New Freedom, Go Further” concept marks an important moment. Yang said, “Consumers currently worry about travel range, long charging times, insufficient charging points, and after-sales service. The GT80 models are designed to address these concerns, offering longer travel distances that help reduce costs. Additionally, the GT80 and GT80-P are built to handle Thailand’s weather conditions, being waterproof, sun-resistant, and rainproof, making them suitable for all usage scenarios.”
Nepal launch
Kuzu Nepal Pvt. Ltd, Yadea’s authorized distributor in Nepal, launched the GT80 in Kathmandu on August 6 alongside two other new models, the GS70 and GT70. The Nepal-spec GT80 is priced at NPR 365,000 (later listed by some outlets at NPR 335,000) and comes with a 3.6 kWh lithium battery paired with a 5 kW peak motor, giving a top speed of 80 km/h and a claimed range of up to 150 km. It shares the smart connectivity suite used across the Nepal lineup – Bluetooth, a TFT display, navigation mirroring, the Yadea Smart App with five-user family sharing, and keyless access – along with Traction Control, cruise control, Hill Hold and Hill Descent Control, and dual disc brakes. The GT80 is available through 20 authorized Yadea dealerships in Nepal, backed by a 3-year or 50,000 km battery warranty. Kuzu Nepal is offering a NPR 10,000 introductory discount on the model through the end of the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026.
Regional differences
The specifications disclosed for Indonesia and Nepal differ substantially – battery capacity, motor output and claimed range are not consistent between the two markets – indicating Yadea is tailoring the GT80 to local regulatory or market requirements rather than distributing a single global configuration.
