BRP has just unveiled the 2026 Can-Am Outlander Electric, and it’s not just another ATV, it’s a bold leap forward in how they think about utility, adventure, and electric mobility in off-road settings.
Built around BRP’s proven Rotax E-Power powertrain, the same modular system that powers their electric motorcycles and snowmobiles, the Outlander Electric delivers a solid 47 horsepower and 53 lb-ft of torque, with a usable range of up to 50 miles in ideal conditions. It’s also quick to recharge: 20 to 80% in just 50 minutes using a Level 2 charger, making it practical for real-world work and play.
Built for work. Made for wilderness.
This isn’t a stripped-down eco toy. The Outlander Electric is a fully-capable machine, boasting a 1,830-pound towing capacity, selectable ride modes (Normal, Sport, and Work), and over 120 available accessories to customize the ride to your terrain and task. From hauling gear on the farm to exploring remote trails, this electric ATV is built to deliver performance without compromise.
But what truly sets it apart? Silence.
Outfitted with XPS Recon Force tires, optimized suspension, and a low-noise cooling system, the Outlander Electric brings an unexpectedly refined experience to off-road utility. The near-silent operation means you can now hear the forest, the wind, even the crunch of the trail, without the engine noise.
“We’re not just launching a new ATV, we’re introducing a new way to experience the outdoors and get the job done,” said Julie Tourville, Director of Global Marketing for Can-Am Off-Road. “This vehicle is built to let riders and workers feel more connected to their surroundings. It’s powerful, quiet, and true to what we do at BRP.”
Tested in the Wild
For the launch, Can-Am teamed up with UK shepherdess and brand ambassador Hannah Jackson, who took the Outlander Electric for a spin across rugged, wet, and boggy farmland.
“I couldn’t believe how quiet it was, I had to check it was on!” she said. “Then I couldn’t believe how reactive it was… It handled absolutely everything seamlessly. It felt weird at first driving without the humming of the engine, but then it was actually beautiful to be able to hear everything around you.”
For those of us who ride electric motorcycles, that sense of connection to the environment is familiar, and seeing it applied in the ATV world is exciting.
