Ernesto Ko, president of YADEA Spain, and Aska Zeng, CEO of YADEA Global, have both put forth at the Automobile Barcelona 2023 that it is innovations which are affordable and realistic that will truly be a driving factor in the transformation of electric mobility all across the globe. They has also given word that by the end of the year they will be offering their first detachable battery model, Keeness, for a retail price of 7,000 euros (RRP) as well as their high-performance scooter VF F200 (ABS) for 6,000 euros (RRP).
Ko has defended the review of direct purchase policies from different administrations, but pointed out that companies like YADEA must play a role in promoting electric transformation by supplying advanced and cost-effective solutions. YADEA is a giant in the industry with over 60 million customers across the globe and has invested more than two decades in researching and developing large-scale electrical two-wheelers for all. Furthermore, it spends more than 130 million each year on research and development (R&D). In 2022 alone, YADEA sold an astounding 14.01 million units; and importantly, they have been the largest producer of electric two-wheelers around the world for six consecutive years.
Naked bike KEENESS
YADEA has produced their first ‘naked’ bike to meet the real zero-emission needs of commuters and passionate users, featuring removable batteries. Until now, this power and speed had only been achievable with heavier integrated-battery bikes that require on board charging.
Keeness sports a 10 kW peak power motor (5.5 kW continuous power), accelerating from 0 to 50 km/h in 2.5 seconds – the equivalent of 300 cc motorbike speed. With its 300 Nm torque, the lithium batteries are 20% lighter and 8% higher capacity than other vehicles of similar power (72V 32Ah, 4608Wh) with an intelligent BMS for maximum protection (IPX7). It can travel 140 kilometers, reach a top speed of 100 km/h and has optimal 50/50 weight distribution due to its two onboard batteries, making it incredibly stable. The inverted wishbone suspension ensures rigidity and precision while its performance tires on 17″ wheels provide great grip (front 100/80-17″, rear 130/70-17″).
Keeness is in production and will be available in Asia from July. By year’s end it is expected to be for sale in Spain at a recommended retail price of 7,000 euros (indicative RRP; with Plan Moves III, less than 6,000 euros).
VF F200
F200 ABS has been designed through a joint project with Studio F.A. Porsche, and its form and shape were inspired by the aesthetics of sports cars. It is fitted with a 10 kW top-end motor which gives it an incredible acceleration from 0-50 km/h in only 2.5 seconds (equivalent to 300 cc of a motorcycle), producing 238 Nm of torque, at a maximum speed of 100 km/h. Its front lighting system is outstanding, allowing visibility at 70 meters long and 9 meters wide. Having dual batteries from ATL, the world’s leading manufacturer (72V 27Ah*2; capacity 3,888 Wh), it can travel for 140 km before needing charging. The batteries come with an intelligent BMS and have maximum levels of protection (IPX7).
F200 will be available in Spain towards the end of this year and will cost just 6,000 euros (indicative RRP; with Plan Moves III, for less than 5,000 euros).
Trooper 01
Trooper 01 is a modern fat bike, boasting a 250 W motor with 50 Nm of torque! It comes equipped with a removable hi-capacity lithium battery (48V 20Ah, 960 Wh) and can reach speeds up to 25 km/h. Depending on the driving mode chosen, Trooper’s autonomy can range between 80 km (‘High’ speed mode, 25 km/h); 100 km/h (‘Mid’ mode at 20 km/h) and 120 km (‘Eco’ mode, at 15 km/h). You’ll be able to take it out for long rides in comfort thanks to its wide ‘Fat tires’, double suspension, and Tektro hydraulic disc brakes.
The Trooper will hit the market in Spain in 2023, and it will cost a mere 3,000 euros (suggested retail price).
