This strategic acquisition not only marks the beginning of a promising new start for UNU, but also ensures the continued existence of the brand and its innovative products. Emco, known for its extensive service network and expertise in the electric scooter market, will provide strong service to the more than 10,000 existing UNU customers, with a focus on maintaining the high quality, design of UNU scooters and looks as a further step to expand your ‘platform for e-mobility’.
Dr. Gordon Geiser, UNU’s insolvency administrator, was very satisfied with the successful conclusion of the insolvency proceedings: Despite an extremely difficult market environment and the insolvency of numerous competitors, we managed to find a solution that was viable for everyone involved. With Emco electroroller GmbH we have a strong partner at our side who, with over approx. 480 partner workshops in Germany and profound market knowledge, values and will further develop the values and heritage of UNU.
This tradition of innovation and commitment to quality and design will continue under Emco electroroller’s new leadership. Emco recognizes the value and importance of the pioneering work carried out by UNU. Emco is committed to building on this legacy. With the aim of continuing to make electromobility easy to use and combining it with driving fun and good design, the takeover ensures the continuity of the UNU brand and its products. Emco will take over unu’s inventory and examine the continuation of the Berlin flagship store as well as the integration of some UNU employees.
