Last week, Honda made a bold announcement that its new electric motocross bike will make an unprecedented wildcard entry at the 8th round of the All Japan Motocross Championship next month. The “CR Electric Proto” will be ridden by American rider Trey Canard, who was crowned as the 2010 AMA Pro Motocross 250 Class Champion and is now acting as an advisor for American Honda Motor Co., Inc. This marks the first attempt by Honda to enter a home-developed electric vehicle in an official race, with Team HRC taking charge of its operations. Mr. Canard will be seen riding the CR ELECTRIC PROTO at the D.I.D All Japan Motocross Championship Round 8, which will take place at Off Road Village (Kawagoe, Saitama Prefecture) on October 28 and 29.
