The WN7 marks Honda’s first fixed-battery naked electric motorcycle developed for the Fun segment, building on the EV Fun Concept first shown at EICMA 2024.

This move is part of Honda’s wider roadmap toward carbon neutrality by 2050, with all motorcycles targeted to become carbon-neutral by the 2040s. The brand is accelerating its electric strategy, calling 2024 the first year of its global EV motorcycle expansion.

A new chapter for Honda Motorcycles

The name WN7 comes from:

  • W = Be the Wind (development concept)
  • N = Naked design
  • 7 = output class

Honda says the WN7 delivers a quiet yet exciting riding experience, blending 75+ years of motorcycle expertise with the new possibilities of electric power.

Alongside commuter-focused EVs, Honda plans to expand its lineup of electric Fun models like the WN7, offering more choices to riders as electrification becomes a core pillar of its future strategy.

The world premiere of the WN7 will take place on November 4, 2025, at EICMA in Milan.

Editors note

Guy Salens – Leader of THE PACK: “Since publishing the news about Honda’s new WN7 electric motorbike, I’ve had mixed feelings. As someone who encourages every step toward electrification, I truly welcome any electric motorbike initiative. The ‘BIg 4’ participation is essential for mainstream adoption.

That said, the Honda WN7 feels more like a cautious first move than the bold leap many of us hoped for. With its limited range, small battery capacity, modest top speed, and relatively high price, it risks struggling to appeal both to existing riders and to new commuters considering electric mobility.

Honda can now rightly say it has entered the electric space in Europe, and that’s an important milestone. But if we want to accelerate the transition to sustainable motorcycling, we need models that inspire confidence, win hearts, and truly compete with combustion bikes. I hope this is just the beginning of Honda’s journey, and that much more ambitious electric motorcycles are on the horizon.”
