B2B | After having run his own graphic design studio for over 30 years, Guy “Motorguy” Salens is expanding his services in the pursuit of his passion for electric mobility.
In 2017, Guy Salens launched the English-language informational website THE PACK “Electric Motorcycle News”, where he makes his knowledge and experience available to a wide audience. THE PACK is not a traditional motorcycle magazine, In that period, it was one of the few websites that provided information about this new industry. Recently THE PACK also presents content marketing possibilities for electric motorcycle manufacturers. This medium can be used as a marketing tool for long-term projects.

Guy: “While one brand after another is launching an electric model in the car and bicycle world, the electric motorcycle and scooter market is not quite reaching cruising speed. All major car and bicycle brands are investing massively in electric driving, but some traditional motorcycle manufacturers have missed their start and are now catching up. A little too late but better late than never.”

“In 2021, Guy and Dutch motorbike dealer / importer Gert-Jan Rongen (Electric Motorbikes) established the E-center in the Netherlands. “The E-center is located on Helmond’s Automotive Campus and focuses on both reliable information and sales and service in the Benelux. On the other hand, it wants to meet demand from several technical education programmes to be involved in this new electric evolution. In addition, the many international start-ups in the electric motorbike industry will get the opportunity to make a name for themselves and to grow in the Benelux,” Guy Salens concludes.

As a consultant, he carries out communication assignments for electric motorcycle and moped manufacturers, and he advises companies, cities, and municipalities on the integration of new mobility solutions. Guy: “We have been seeing new business models for several years now: off-road/adventure parks are popping up in Europe where you can rent an electric enduro for a few hours, hotels and B&B’s have electric scooters available for their guests, many courier companies use light electric vehicles as last-mile solution. We are now also experiencing that companies are starting to take an interest in using electric scooters for different logistic solutions for their employees with the mobility budget.”

Today, April 2022, a new chapter begins and Motorguy becomes a new sales channel for electric motorcycles and mopeds in the Benelux. Guy: “Actually, it is a logical continuation of what I have achieved. Through THE PACK I am in contact with most manufacturers and there is already a good cooperation with Electric Motorbikes from the Netherlands. Mind you, Motorguy will not be a shop for private individuals, I am only targeting the B2B market.”
Gert-Jan Rongen: “With Electric Motorbikes we have been working on this electric two-wheeler mobility for several years now. It is a young, new market with relatively many new players. We are always investigating which brands may be interesting for the Benelux market with Guy. Electric mobility is no longer a doubt. We are all committed to a better living environment for now and later. For ourselves, but especially for our next generations. And we like to think out-of-the-box, which is why we are joining this new retail story from Motorguy for the business market.”

Guy Salens: “In addition to deliver electric motorcycles, Motorguy can also guide B2B customers with their protective motorcycle clothing. Through a collaboration with Rev’It and EKO Motorwear (the largest motorcycle clothing store in Belgium), our customers receive professional tailor-made advice for their complete and safe motorcycle equipment.
