TERRA Motorcycles launches the 2026 Prime, a street-legal electric scrambler
TERRA Motorcycles has introduced the 2026 TERRA Prime, a dual-sport electric motorcycle styled after classic garage-built scramblers and café racers. The bike is street-legal and off-road capable, built by the Colorado-based company founded in 2020.
Origins
TERRA was founded by Dylan Brown in 2020, with the first prototype built in the Utah desert. Brown, who grew up around project motorcycles in his father’s shop, set out to build an electric bike capable of both off-road riding and daily commuting without the maintenance demands of a combustion engine.
“My dad always had a project motorcycle in his shop, and that’s where this started. I wanted everything we loved about riding, the open air and the freedom, without the grease and the noise.” said Brown, founder and CEO of TERRA Motorcycles. “And living in Western Colorado meant, the bike needed offroad chops while allowing me to run raft shuttles, and cruise – legally – to work everyday. I wanted something to do it all.”
Design
The Prime uses a sculpted aluminum tank, a pleated leather seat and a round headlight, referencing café racer and scrambler styling. It is available in three colorways: Night Rider, Forest Rider and Dusk Rider. The bike is designed for owner customization, with adjustable gearing, suspension, tires and wheel setups, plus an open-market controller for remapping.
A modern dual sport with a classic twist
Specifications
The Prime is built on a chromoly steel frame with an aluminum battery housing. It features long-travel suspension, DOT-compliant components and dual-sport tires, and is registered as a VIN-equipped, on-road motorcycle classified M1. Charging is done via a standard 110V outlet, with no special installation required.

TERRA notes that actual range and top speed vary with rider weight, terrain, riding mode, temperature and battery condition. The Prime offers multiple ride modes, from a restricted setting for new riders to full unlocked power.
TERRA is officially registered as a manufacturer with the NHTSA and certified by the EPA.
Production
TERRA has been delivering its production bike since October 2024. The company has sold roughly 150 units to date, including over 100 delivered to customers and another 50 orders set to go out in the coming weeks.
Pricing and Availability
The 2026 TERRA Prime is available now at $6,499 MSRP, plus accessories, through terramotorcycles.com and authorized TERRA dealers. TERRA Motorcycles is expanding its dealership network to support aftermarket parts and upgrades as the company scales. This model is classified as an M1 motorcycle and requires appropriate motorcycle licensing, registration and insurance for on-road use.
