Electric motorcyclists are pioneers, each and every one of us. And ambassadors as well. Each of us has a unique story about why we swung a leg over an electric motorcycle for the first time, and each of us could talk all night about our experiences with electric riding. However, we hardly know any other ‘electric’ colleagues, if we even know any at all. So just imagine a ride with 50 or even 80 or more motorcyclists, humming, whistling, gliding, zooming through the night together.
The Electric Night Ride was Trui Hanoulle’s ingenious idea to bring together electric motorcycles and mopeds for a nighttime adventure in a European city. The last 6 editions were held in Antwerp #1 (Belgium), Lucerne #2 (Switzerland), Paris #3 (France), Stuttgart #4 (Germany) with the assistance of Christian Jog, Jaca #5 (Spain) organized by Daniel Montero, and Brussels #6 (Belgium) hosted by Pat Kramp.
Electric Night Ride #7
The 7th edition of the Electric Night Ride (ENR) will take place on Saturday, August 31st in the Netherlands and is organized by Cornee Bosmans, an enthusiastic Dutch electric motorcycle rider, in collaboration with Gert-Jan Rongen from Electric Motorbikes Nederland. Stay up to date with the latest news and updates about this event through the Facebook group “Wie Rijdt? Elektrische Motor.” Participants and interested individuals can also communicate and exchange messages here. Cornee has mapped out a 45 km route through Helmond and Eindhoven, suitable for riding with electric scooters (so no highways will be used). Several scenic locations are planned as stops for photo opportunities along the way.
Cornee Bosmans: “After participating in the European Night Ride (ENR) in Brussels, Gert-Jan and I came up with the idea to organize the next edition in the Netherlands. We are excited to make it a fantastic event! We will start at 8 PM on the Automotive Campus in Helmond, but we’ll also make sure it’s a fun social gathering by hosting a barbecue for all Electric Night Riders at 6 PM. In case of bad weather, we will use the restaurant on campus and provide a buffet indoors. Participation in the Night Ride is free, but costs for the BBQ/buffet and drinks are at your own expense. The ride will end back at the Automotive Campus, and we expect everyone to join us until the end. You can also order a “Ride-After” package (wrap/candy and a drink). For organizational purposes, we kindly ask you to register and prepay using this form at Electric Motorbikes Nederland. There are plenty of charging stations available for those who need to charge during the day or while having dinner. Any information about sleep accommodations will be shared on our Facebook event page or through our WhatsApp group.”
