“ON” is a new initiative between the Belgian automotive designer Ben Surain and E-mobility ambassador Guy Salens (founder of THE PACK “Electric Motorcycle News, the E-center in the Netherlands and Motorguy) to accelerate the use of light electric vehicles. “ON” creates, develops and markets their own LEV brands for last-mile solutions and personal e-mobility. Under the theme #pushthebuttontoday, “ON” wants to present their range of unique light electric vehicles and the possibilities of future mobility.
“ON” also specializes in electrical custom builds and will open a new multi-brand shop and workshop on the Belgian coast in Blankenberge in October 2022. The focus will be on light electric motorcycles and mopeds with a unique design. If the customer wishes, these vehicles can undergo a separate and individual “Surain” touch.

In Europe we are already familiar with cargo e-bikes and longtail bicycles for many purposes. Whether it’s to take the kids to and from school, to do your shopping or to use these vehicles for last-mile delivery by couriers… many families in urban environments are already using these types of light electric vehicles. Nowadays, with the high energy prices and extreme fuel costs, these e-bikes are becoming very popular and in most cases they even replace the family car.
This new way of sustainable e-mobility inspired “ON” to design their own light electric vehicle: C-Board is a large, foldable and modular scooter for many uses. However, this is no ordinary kickstep: the larger floor panel allows you to place your feet next to each other, which gives a much greater and safer stability than with normal kicksteps. Another safety feature is that you must start the vehicle on your own (yes, you must kick off with one foot). This prevents sudden acceleration and keeps you in control. By operating the speed button with your thumb, you can quickly get on your way.
C-Board is in pre-order via the website of “ON” and will be fully assembled in Belgium.
E-core is a user-friendly plug-in replacement for any thermal ‘Base 50’ combustion engine to convert it into an electric one. “ON” is targeting the global market with this solution to convert traditional combustion engines into electric ones.
Ben Surain: “The prototype is working and several tests are currently underway. E-Core will be an economic alternative to an LEV. Now we are looking for investors who believe in this project and can give us a boost with the production and distribution of the product”.
Guy Salens: “The electric transition is now in full swing: many cities and countries worldwide are taking measures to ban combustion engines. Fuel prices remain expensive. With E-core, “ON” presents a new alternative for personal e-mobility in the existing global lightweight motorcycle market. A large part of this target group (with traditional petrol motorcycles) currently does not always have the financial means to purchase an electric motorcycle.”
Electrical custom builds
For private clients, “ON” can create unique and tailor-made E-projects. For example, this project was based on a TC Max Super Soco. Ben Surain created and completely rebuilt this TC Max into a minimalist cafe racer called “Nuit”. Ben: “We are convinced that there will always be a market for special and unique projects, to express your individuality as we have always seen in the traditional motorcycle world until now”.

Guy: “ON” is a new and perhaps quirky player in this young e-mobility market. But I am certain we can claim our place in this exciting industry with our ideas and knowledge. We just owe it to ourselves. There is no other option anymore. The force is electric in the coming years. And it’s time.
