A strategic and industrial partnership between French motorcycle manufacturers DAB Motors and Peugeot Motocycles has been established to merge their specializations in the electric motorcycle industry.
DAB Motors is providing its futuristic design approach and Peugeot Motocycles is contributing its business experience and world-wide reach. This union symbolizes the progress of French technological advancement, while offering new solutions to customers.
“I am thrilled to be partnering with a historical manufacturer such as Peugeot Motocycles. This strategic collaboration will take DAB Motors to the next level. With the support of Peugeot Motocycles, DAB Motors will soon be mass-producing its electric motorcycles and delivering worldwide” said Simon Dabadie, CEO & Founder of DAB Motors.
By partnering with Peugeot Motocycles, DAB Motors will be able to scale up and distribute their revolutionary electric bike on a large scale. In return, Peugeot Motocycles will benefit from DAB Motors’ expertise in electric vehicle design (particularly with regards to top-of-the-line motorbikes and exceptional solutions) as well as the results of their internal electrification programme.
“The primary driving force behind our collaboration lies in DAB brand promise – to provide thrills on wheels to bold humans. This powerful commitment has led us to recognize the necessity of venturing into the electric realm, building upon our legacy of launching motorcycles 125 years ago. Additionally, the essence of both brands is rooted in production in France. We take great pride in manufacturing our premium ranges locally, preserving our strong expertise, and contributing to the growth of the French industry”,” said Sebastien Mas, President of Peugeot Motocycles.
Peugeot Motocycles has injected a significant sum of money into DAB Motors and now holds the majority stake, with the intention of beginning serial production of the Concept-E.
The team at DAB Motors will utilize the expertise and resources from Peugeot Motocycles in order to industrialize their designs. This includes using Peugeot’s historical factory in Mandeure, France as the manufacturing hub for DAB Motors’ electric motorcycles.
The Mandeure plant offers the chance to kickstart production on a large scale; an opportunity that can not only increase output, but also improve efficiency and reduce costs, making them more competitive within the premium electric market.
Mathieu Purrey, President of the Peugeot Motorcycles Supervisory Board, added, “This industrial alliance between Peugeot Motocycles and DAB Motors reflects the formidable combination of an historical producer and a disruptive new comer. Proud to contribute to the “Made in France” and really much looking forward to what comes next. Enjoy the ride!”
The days ahead appear to be filled with promise for DAB Motors and whoever buys their product. Be sure to keep an eye out, as they continue to explore the frontiers of electric motorcycles. Expect to see more innovative technology and design from them in the near future.
