Charging in France is always “tricky”. You never know if it will work or if the place is occupied by ICE cars … and yes, a guy with a fat mercedes who thought it was a gas station … we kindly asked to move his car. Then a Zoe who also wanted to charge … but we want to charge our 4 motorbikes at the same time … sorry dude (he was not amused and went off). After fifteen minutes he came back, very friendly. He thought we were going to stand in the shade and didn’t knew our motorcycles were electric, everybody happy.
The charging stations at the Spanish border are not so user-friendly. These companies expect that you have their own specific charging passes. Fortunately, there is always a Lidl in the neighbourhood. The rest of the group is charging at different stations. After a while you become very inventive. Adapt and charge. The EU should make sure that all cards are allowed everywhere. Without exception!
And we’re not even talking about how many people leave their car full charged and plugged in at the station. The car next to me is in red, so no one else can charge it. Such a shame. In our Dutch language we already have a special word for it: “laadkleven” and you’ll get a ticket for it when Police notice this.
We are working on the last phase so another 80-100 km to Jaca
