GOVECS introduces the fastest production Schwalbe in the world

July 13, 2018 January 10, 2023Guy SalensElectric mopedsGovecs, Schwalbe

Press release | After the Schwalbe had made a successful comeback as an electric scooter, GOVECS has doubled the speed of this cult two-wheeler, making history once again. Never before has a Schwalbe (German for swallow) flown so fast. With a top speed of 90 km/h and a range of up to 90 km, the new GOVECS light motorcycle is also winning the hearts of a technology-oriented target group in search of adrenaline. One outstanding feature of the new Schwalbe is the Bosch-made drive system with a maximum output of 8 kW. In addition to unparalleled driving pleasure, the Schwalbe also offers high safety and reliability “designed in Germany”.

While the outward appearance of the “speedy” Schwalbe remains unchanged, the maximum engine power has doubled to 8 kW, and in Boost mode the Schwalbe will now accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h in less than four seconds.“ The performance figures for the version of this motorcycle are simply sensational,“ says GOVECS CEO Thomas Grübel with immense pride. “With this kind of acceleration and the host of technical features, the Schwalbe will most certainly capture the heart of even the seasoned motorcyclist: once you’ve had a ride on it, you won’t want to get off that bike again.”

The thrill of leading the pack

In these times of traffic restrictions and heavily congested roads, GOVECS is setting the trend with the new Schwalbe. Sustainable and smart mobility combined with unique design and premium performance – this is the long-awaited solution for many commuters and city dwellers. Thanks to the Schwalbe motorcycle, it is not only urban road traffic and city highways that will become the stage for a new era of mobility. With a top speed of 90 km/h, the Schwalbe rider will also be heading out into the countryside, cruising on country roads in environmentally friendly as well as stylish manner, either for the daily commute or on relaxed weekend excursions.

Leading-edge technology makes for an enjoyable, safe ride

As with the scooter version, the complete drive train has been developed in cooperation with technology partner Bosch, and the result is a powerhouse with plenty of built-in intelligence. In peak-performance Boost mode, in which the engine constantly delivers maximum output, the batteries are protected from overheating by a sophisticated battery management system. This function not only guarantees that the batteries will last; it also ensures the highest level of safety and the greatest possible range. With a range of up to 90 kilometres, the new Schwalbe is also setting a new benchmark in this area.

Premium features

The three riding modes “Go”, “Cruise” and “Boost” have been adopted from the moped version. They allow the rider to adjust not only the acceleration behavior but also the top speed of this light motorcycle. Deceleration is taken care of by the well-proportioned disc brakes with their solid grip and the Combined Braking System, which splits the braking force evenly across the front and rear wheels and comes with the standard version. For riders looking for even greater safety, the E-Schwalbe can be fitted with the optional Bosch Anti-Lock Braking system (ABS).

The Schwalbe L3e on Electric Motorcycles News

Like its baby sister, the light-weight Schwalbe motorcycle carries two lithium-ion batteries, giving it a total capacity of 4.8 kWh. They can be fully recharged in just under five hours at any household mains power outlet via the built-in charger. With the fast-charge function, the battery level can be boosted from 0 to 50% in less than two hours.

Pricing for the new Schwalbe model starts at EUR 6,990. Orders can continue to be sent via the online configuration platform at www.myschwalbe.com
