RFN Warrior E15 PLUS+: first electric motorbike to finish Gold Class at Australian Hard Enduro Series
Source: Facebook RFN | At the 2026 Australian Hard Enduro Series, rider Lincoln Seidel completed the Gold Class aboard the RFN Warrior E15 PLUS+, making it the first electric motorcycle to both compete and finish in that category. The achievement is notable given the demands of hard enduro, a discipline involving steep hill climbs, loose terrain, and technical rock sections that push both machinery and rider to their limits.

The bike Seidel rode is the RFN Warrior PRO SX-E15 PLUS+, the flagship model in the Australian-market RFN lineup, currently priced at AUD $8,990. Here is what the machine actually consists of.

Motor and performance
The SX-E15 PLUS+ runs a 15kW peak output motor, rated at 20 horsepower and producing 650Nm of torque. Top speed is listed at 100 km/h. For context, that torque figure and throttle response profile differ significantly from a petrol equivalent, electric motors deliver maximum torque from zero RPM, meaning acceleration off the line or out of technical sections is immediate without the need to manage a clutch or gear changes.

Battery and range
Power comes from a 74V, 40Ah Samsung lithium-ion battery pack with a total capacity of 2,960Wh. The pack supports fast charging at 3.5 hours and is designed to be swappable, which has practical implications for enduro use where recharging mid-event is not always feasible.

Chassis and suspension
The bike runs 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels, with 240mm of front travel and 250mm at the rear. Seat height is 920mm and the wheelbase measures 1,340mm, dimensions broadly in line with full-size motocross geometry. Kerb weight is 86kg.

Braking and controls
Front and rear hydraulic disc brakes are fitted as standard. The bike uses a sine wave controller and offers multiple selectable power modes, allowing the rider to adjust power delivery to suit conditions.

Maintenance profile
With no combustion engine, the SX-E15 PLUS+ requires no fuel, engine oil, spark plugs, air filter, or exhaust servicing. For off-road use in restricted areas, the near-silent operation also means access to locations where noise regulations would otherwise exclude petrol bikes.

The Gold Class finish at the Australian Hard Enduro Series is the first competitive validation of the platform under genuinely demanding race conditions. Whether the result accelerates broader adoption of electric bikes in off-road competition remains to be seen, but the mechanical case for the category is no longer purely theoretical.
