Scuter gets an update: new features, a bigger fleet and wider coverage in Milan

Source: THE PACK Italia | © Marco Ghezzi – Fabrizio Tiriolo | Italy’s most original two-wheel sharing service – built around a protective, roomy, three-wheeled electric scooter that can be ridden without a helmet – keeps growing its user base. But Scuter isn’t resting on its success. The company has just rolled out a series of updates aimed at making the riding experience more practical, safer and more functional.

Upgrades born from real-world use

The first change is a phone holder, a simple but meaningful addition for riders who rely on their smartphone for navigation. It keeps the phone visible and secure, making it easier to follow a route without holding the device. Alongside it, Scuter has added an onboard USB-A port, letting riders charge their phone while on the move.

It sounds like a small detail, but it matters – especially when the phone is doing double duty for navigation, calls and managing the service. The second update concerns the rear trunk, which can now be closed. It’s only a soft cover rather than a lockable lid, but it still adds practicality and peace of mind, letting riders leave belongings inside during a trip with more confidence. The compartment is also rated to carry parcels up to 6 kg.

We’re glad to note that during our earlier test of Scuter, we specifically suggested adding a closable cover to the rear trunk. That suggestion is now reality. It’s a small but genuine satisfaction to see feedback drawn directly from hands-on testing translate into an actual product change – and further proof of how valuable real-world vehicle testing and everyday use really are. Rounding out the update package are new handguards, which improve protection and help riders keep better control of the vehicle in city traffic.

More Scuters, more of Milan

The changes aren’t limited to the vehicle itself. The fleet has grown too, both in the number of units available and in where the service can be used. Beyond covering the whole city of Milan, Scuter is now also available along several routes into the surrounding hinterland.

It’s a meaningful step forward: it makes Scuter a genuinely more viable option for everyday trips and pushes the service further toward becoming a truly city-wide network.
