Ten years of SteckerBiker: a thank you to our German media partner
Guy Salens – THE PACK: “Exactly ten years ago, two guys in Germany started sharing their electric motorcycle journeys with shaky phone footage and a lot of wind noise. Today, SteckerBiker is one of the pillars of THE PACK’s international network – the first German-language community to join us on equal footing, bringing the same honesty, humor, and hands-on curiosity that built this whole movement in the first place. Patrick and Remo have earned every bit of the following they’ve built, and we’re proud to call them partners. Here’s their story, in their own words.”
Ten years of SteckerBiker
It started almost exactly ten years ago. Remo bought a Zero SR 13.0 without ever having ridden one, and started sharing his experiences with electric motorcycles on YouTube as a Zero pioneer – straight from everyday life, with test rides, technical talk, and no shortage of enthusiasm. He had no idea about cameras, sound, or editing – just a phone camera, shaky footage, and plenty of wind noise. But even then, it was about the cause itself.
At some point, the spark caught Patrick too. In 2021 he started sharing his own experiences as Paddy Lectric. In one of his first shorts, he jokingly warned about the ‘dangers of e-mobility’: his combustion bike had barely racked up double-digit kilometers in a year, while his “e-moped” had already clocked several thousand more.
They quickly realized they stood for the same thing. As different as the two of them are, they’ve always complemented each other perfectly – and that’s exactly what makes it work. By now, what connects them is no longer just a passion for electric motorcycles, but a real friendship.
Out of that came SteckerBiker and steckerbiker.de – built on the idea of bringing together people interested in and riding electric motorcycles, sharing experiences, and exploring the electric two-wheeled world together.
No rose-tinted glasses. Straight from everyday life. Easy to understand, humorous – but always interesting.
Another big step followed in 2025 with THE PACK. Since then, SteckerBiker has worked as the first German-language community on equal footing with others in an international network under their own name, with the ambition to research topics themselves, explain them clearly, and stay as objective as possible.
And now the second generation of SteckerBiker is already growing up. The first of them are getting their AM or A1 licenses and starting their two-wheeled lives electric as a matter of course. They’re skipping right past what their parents started with: the combustion engine. Kids – how time flies.
Looking back today, we’re incredibly proud of what’s grown out of all this. And none of it would have been possible without you. Thank you for that!
Would we walk the same path again today? Absolutely. If anything, we just wonder why we didn’t start so much sooner… But one thing is clear: we’re here to stay.
