The Blacksheep ONE: a bespoke electric motorbike built for those who refuse to blend in
The British independent brand unveiled its debut machine, The Blacksheep ONE, on Motorcycle Live 2025 (15–23 November, NEC Birmingham). But make no mistake: this isn’t a launch aimed at the masses. It’s a statement for the few who still believe motorcycles should feel mechanical, personal, and slightly rebellious.

A machine, not a gadget
Founded in 2018 by British engineer and lifelong rider Mark Gilligan, Blacksheep Power was born from frustration. As performance motorcycles went electric, Gilligan saw something disappear: industrial beauty. Too many wires. Too many covers. Too little honesty.

The Blacksheep ONE is his counterargument.
Built entirely around a design-first philosophy where form follows function, the bike strips away anything unnecessary. No decorative panels. No hidden systems. What remains is a raw, exposed machine engineered to be seen, touched, and understood.

At the heart of the build is a radical construction method: CNC-machined billet components, milled from solid blocks of aluminium. The result is a motorcycle that feels carved rather than assembled: stronger, cleaner, and unmistakably mechanical.

Engineering, machined into existence
Blacksheep’s obsession with precision led to the development of three patented in-house technologies, each machined directly into the bike’s core architecture:
- BilletFlux™ – An axial flux motor designed from billet for extreme power density in a compact form
- BilletFlow™ – An integrated cooling system with channels machined directly into the housings for sustained performance
- BilletPower™ – A wire-free power delivery system where energy flows through billet components from the battery to the stator, combining strength and efficiency

Built to be collected, not replaced
The Blacksheep ONE isn’t chasing range anxiety solutions or mass-market convenience. Its purpose is far more deliberate: a high-performance urban and short-haul machine that doubles as a piece of engineering art.
This is a bike for riders who want ownership to feel personal. For collectors who value craftsmanship over software updates. For those who believe identity matters more than spec sheets.

That philosophy extends to production. Blacksheep Power will build only 50 machines worldwide for 2026, no more, no exceptions. Each slot represents a fully commissioned motorcycle, not a preconfigured model.
“The Blacksheep ONE is not a gadget for the many, but a powerful machine customised for the few,” says Gilligan. “Every rider should own an identity, not just a model. We build motorbikes that feel alive.”
Bespoke means bespoke
Every Blacksheep ONE is entirely custom-built. Owners work directly with the brand to define finishes, materials, and visual language, right down to the exposed battery pack, which becomes a canvas for bespoke graphics or artwork.
No two builds will look the same. That’s the point.
