Source: press release Vmoto Soco UK | At EICMA 2021, the Vmoto Stash made its debut as a prototype and is now ready to hit the roads of the UK in its final production form. This model sets a higher standard for electric motorbikes with its increased power and advanced features. Notably, the company has transitioned from the ‘Super Soco’ branding to proudly wear the ‘Vmoto’ label, keeping all models under one banner. The Stash is positioned at the top of their premium line-up as their flagship model.
Created by Adrian Morton, a renowned British designer from the European C-Creative style center, known for his iconic designs like the MV Agusta F4 and Benelli Tornado Tre, the Vmoto Stash is guaranteed to turn heads with its captivating design.
One of the most interesting aspects of the Vmoto Stash is its storage system. The area between the seat and handlebars is designed as a large storage compartment, big enough to hold a full-face helmet. Beneath this space lies a robust 100Ah, 72V battery, with a capacity of 7.2kWh, powering an electric motor attached to the front of the swingarm that drives the rear wheel through a chain mechanism.
The motor has a standard power of 8 kW (which is equal to 10.7 bhp), making it suitable for new riders with L-plates as it falls below the limit of 11 kW (15 hp) for 125 cc learner bikes. However, the Vmoto Stash can produce even more power through its ‘boost’ mode, increasing the peak power to 15 kW (20.1 bhp). This boost not only improves acceleration but also raises the top speed from 68.4 mph (110 km/h) to 74.6 mph (120 km/h) for short bursts, allowing for safe overtaking maneuvers. The bike also weighs 143 kg, has a range of 93.2 miles (150 km) on a single charge, and has a compact wheelbase of 1373 mm with a comfortable seat height of 830 mm.
The Vmoto Stash is equipped with a braking system that includes levers on both handlebars, similar to a scooter, making foot controls unnecessary. This combined brake system engages both front and rear brakes simultaneously by simply applying either lever. The bike also features hydraulic brakes on both the front and rear, with discs and a sturdy radial-mount calliper for the front brake. For added safety, standard ABS is included in the Vmoto Stash. The 17-inch wheels are fitted with high-quality Pirelli Diablo Rosso tires (110/70 at the front and 140/70 at the rear), which come standard with the first 40 bikes available in the UK and are optional for all others.
CEO, of the now manufacturer owned, Vmoto Soco UK following a takeover from the previous distributor in 2022. Clive Mann said, “We couldn’t be more excited for the Stash, this indicates a new era for Vmoto by bridging the gap between electric and ICE and providing not just high-quality but great value learner legal vehicles. 2024 will see huge pushes for us as a brand in the UK and worldwide, and this is just the beginning”.
The new Vmoto Stash has a launch price of £6299 + OTR, making it the most expensive model in their current range. Customers can choose from Black or Blue colors for their Stash, and those eager to get their hands on one can pre-order now. The estimated arrival of stock in the UK is around April/May 2024.
