The Pilgrimage of Peddars Way – an Electric off-road motorcycle adventure – Chapter 1
Rich in history, the Peddars Way is an ancient pilgrimage route dating back to the 15th and 16th centuries- before this, the route was based on Roman roads (and potentially even more ancient civilisation trackways). Its name is derived from the Latin word meaning “on foot,” and it winds through a striking mix of heathland, woodland, and charming rural villages.

Photographer @neilkatesphoto and illustrator/rider @mattrowedesign recently partnered with a group of motorcycle and lifestyle brands to explore this historic route in a modern, sustainable way—aboard the fully electric and impressively capable @zeromotorcycleseurope DSR/X. Designed to handle diverse terrain with ease, the DSR/X proved to be the perfect companion for the journey (which they quickly recognised from the first twist of the throttle as the adventure began).

This story takes the form of a “book” documenting their adventure and is divided into four chapters which will be posted about on their socials for the next four Fridays (so stay tuned). Chapter 1, introduced in this post, captures the lead-up to the trip. The bike, already wearing the dust from an initial shakedown ride, was prepped with extremely grippy @michelinuk Michelin Anakee Wild tyres and packed with all the essentials from some of the best brands in the business. Anticipation was high, and excitement even higher.

With the DSR/X fully charged, Neil’s camera gear powered up, and Matt fuelled by much-needed caffeine, they were ready to hit the trail—two wheels, two friends, one epic route, and a journey through time.
