The 2.2 version of the motorbike features a lighter and stronger monocoque frame with optimization for rigidity and heat management, as well as a more powerful motor and a smaller, more efficient MCU (motor controller unit).

Rider Kenichi Kuroyama piloted the TY-E 2.2 to a strong finish with 3rd place overall at Round 5 in Hokkaido. As they move into the second half of the season Yamaha Motor will continue collecting data through real-world competition in order to make further adjustments and updates to the bike.
