Nuen Moto returns with Volty U1, a modular utility platform for Vietnamese streets

Nuen Moto has broken its silence. In a new statement, the Vietnamese EV startup explains that the quiet period on its channels wasn’t a sign it had stopped working – it was time spent back at the drawing board.

The company confirms that its N1-S project has been discontinued. Nuen Moto acknowledges it should have communicated that decision more clearly at the time, and apologizes for the delay. All deposits from N1-S reservation holders have reportedly been fully refunded.

According to Nuen Moto, the project wasn’t shelved because the underlying goal was abandoned, but because the team concluded it needed a stronger technology foundation before bringing a product to market – rather than rushing out something that wasn’t ready.

The time away also gave the company room to reassess the Vietnamese EV market itself. Nuen Moto notes that growth in the sector has outpaced the fundamentals: reliable battery infrastructure and vehicles genuinely designed around local riding patterns, from daily commuting to last-mile delivery work.

Rather than trying to compete on every front – a trap the company says has cost many EV startups their focus – Nuen Moto chose to narrow in, building around real rider needs instead of a one-size-fits-all motorcycle.

That focus has produced the Volty U1, a modular utility-platform e-bike designed for Vietnamese streets.
