Stark allowed to race Red Bull Erzbergrodeo in Austria
Stark Future continues to push electric off-road motorcycles into uncharted territory, announcing a major achievement that underscore the growing competitiveness and credibility of electric platforms at the very highest level of the sport.

For the first time in its history, the legendary Red Bull Erzbergrodeo will allow electric motorcycles to compete in 2026, opening the door for Stark VARG riders to line up alongside combustion entrants under the same sporting and technical regulations. Stark owners will be admitted into the Open Class during the Prologue Qualification, with the opportunity to qualify for Sunday’s Main Race and take part in iconic side events such as the Rocket Ride.

Electric participation has been fully integrated into the event’s structure, including official registration and communications. To support this historic step, Red Bull Erzbergrodeo will provide dedicated charging infrastructure, including an emission-free charging station in the Erzbergrodeo Arena, an additional powered location on the mountain, and an approved battery-swap service point on course. Unique to electric entrants, riders will be allowed assistance from their service crews during battery swaps at the designated service area.

Karl Katoch, Founder and CEO of Red Bull Erzbergrodeo, highlighted the significance of the move, noting the Stark VARG’s ability to fight for top positions in modern competition and confirming its place in his own garage with Erzberg firmly in mind. Stark Future will field Eddie Karlsson and Toby Martyn as the brand prepares for its first official assault on the Iron Giant.

Guy Salens – THE PACK: “Together, these two latest milestones, from Erzberg’s brutal hard-enduro battlefield to the edge of the atmosphere in the Andes, signal a defining moment for Stark Future. Electric off-road motorcycles are no longer experimental outsiders; they are now racing, climbing, and competing at the very limits of what motorcycles can do.”
