Stark secures historic 2026 FIM SuperEnduro Manufacturers’ World Championship title
Source: press release Stark Future | Electric motorcycle manufacturer Stark Future has claimed the 2026 Manufacturers’ title in the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship, marking the first time an electric motorcycle brand has won the championship.

The achievement represents a significant milestone for electric off-road racing. SuperEnduro is widely regarded as one of the most demanding disciplines in motorcycle competition, with riders battling on tight indoor tracks filled with technical obstacles such as rock gardens, logs and jumps. For decades, the championship has been dominated by combustion-powered machines fielded by major factory teams.

For Sebastien Tortelli, Stark Racing Director, the moment carries both professional and deeply personal significance.
“Our riders’ exceptional performances have culminated in a historic achievement: securing our first-ever FIM SuperEnduro World Manufacturers’ Championship title. This represents a major milestone for Stark, the team, and everyone who has contributed to this journey.

The hard work and dedication of the team in Barcelona, particularly in developing the VARG, have been instrumental in making this possible. This victory is also deeply meaningful to me on a personal level. Just two and a half years ago, here at this same event, we were turned away from racing the series. Since then, we have worked tirelessly along with the FIM and Promoter to make this happen, always applying our company philosophy and pushing the boundaries of what is possible. It hasn’t been easy, but to now achieve our first FIM World Championship at the same event 2 years later is an incredible and deeply rewarding achievement.”
Electric challenger among established giants
During the 2026 season, Stark entered the championship with the Stark VARG EX, competing directly against established manufacturers and some of the sport’s most successful riders, including multiple world champion Billy Bolt and factory rider Jonny Walker.
The Spanish-based manufacturer relied on a strong and consistent rider line-up to secure the manufacturers’ crown.
Swedish rider Eddie Karlsson delivered a solid campaign aboard the VARG EX, finishing fourth overall in the championship standings. His consistent performances throughout the season proved crucial in collecting the points needed to push Stark to the top of the manufacturers’ table.

“First of all, I’m really happy for the team and everyone involved. To secure the manufacturer’s title in SuperEnduro is really special. I’m also pleased to finish fourth overall in the championship. We improved throughout the season, with three podiums and some really close battles. Taking a SuperPole in the final round was also a great moment. Overall I’m very happy with the season and already looking forward to next year to keep improving and fight for wins.”, says Eddie.
Teammate Toby Martyn, who joined the team for the 2026 season, quickly adapted both to the demanding SuperEnduro discipline and to the high-performance electric platform. Martyn finished the championship in fifth place overall, adding further valuable points to the title-winning effort.

Toby: “The final round in France was always going to be a tough evening, with the track being really physical. I had a really good SuperPole lap, which gave me 4th gate pick. In race one, I got caught up in traffic and had to fight my way through from behind, but I had good starts in races two and three and was able to battle with the top guys. Unfortunately, a small crash and some arm pump got the better of me. Overall, though, I’m happy to finish the night fifth overall and fifth in the championship. It’s also really cool to clinch the Manufacturers’ Championship for Stark, a great achievement for the whole team after all the hard work.”
Together, both riders demonstrated the competitiveness, durability and performance of the Stark VARG platform on some of the toughest indoor enduro tracks in the world.
For Anton Wass, CEO and Founder of Stark, the championship victory validates the company’s founding mission.
“From the beginning, our goal was simple: build the best off-road motorcycles in the world and prove their performance at the highest level of Racing. Winning the FIM SuperEnduro Manufacturers’ World Championship shows what is possible when innovation, engineering, and racing ambition come together.”

A milestone for electric off-road racing ⚡
With this championship title, Stark Future has once again pushed the boundaries of electric motorcycle performance. Winning a manufacturers’ championship in a discipline traditionally dominated by internal combustion bikes highlights how far electric technology has progressed in recent years.
The achievement adds to the company’s growing list of milestones, including a previous altitude record recognized by Guinness World Records.
For the broader electric motorcycle industry, the result sends a clear signal: electric machines are no longer just alternatives, they are now capable of competing at the very highest level of motorcycle sport.

Paul Soucy, Chief Technology Officer, emphasized the significance of the achievement from a technical perspective:
“This championship demonstrates the incredible potential of the VARG platform. From power delivery and traction to reliability and control, the technology has proven itself under the most demanding racing conditions. This is a huge milestone for the entire engineering team.”

- Manu Gómez – Stark
- Toby Shaw – GASGAS
Manu Gómez: “The championship didn’t start as I expected, but after the first two or three races, I found my rhythm and my best form. This weekend, I didn’t quite get the feeling or the pace I wanted, but I still managed to finish the race in P3. That result allowed me to close out the Junior SuperEnduro World Championship with second place overall. I’m very happy to have achieved this runner-up position with Stark and am more eager than ever to fight for it next year.”

Note of THE PACK – Guy Salens
I have personally experienced the capabilities of these electric off-road machines during a test ride with the Stark VARG EX in the Pyrenees. Riding the motorbike on technical trails in the Spanish mountains made one thing very clear: these machines combine impressive power, instant torque and remarkable rideability.
Seeing Stark Future now securing the Manufacturers’ title in the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship confirms what many riders who have tried the VARG already know, electric off-road motorcycles are not just competitive, they are redefining the limits of performance in this segment.
